Hi I'm Jennifer Palmer Hilton

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a wife and a mother of three children. I love visiting the mountains with the family. I love music and singing. I adore helping with my toddler's preschool co-op. I also love to cook. I especially love to cook when my husband is in the kitchen with me. Cooking is often a family affair. The kids help prepare and taste the food as we go and then offer their “professional” opinions. Yummy food is a great result, but it's even better that we are together. These last few years my greatest interest has been sewing. I began by making little dresses for my daughter. Gradually I grew more adventurous and made custom dresses for clients. Then, because of the needs around me, I began doing alterations. Each project helps me grow and improve my craft. It provides a time for me to create and imagine. As a stay at home mom, sewing gives me balance. It allows me a portion of personal time and achievement without infringing on the time I need and want to dedicate to my sweet family.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have felt the love of God in my life. I have felt, many times, His immense and personal love for me. I have had a lot of love in my life. I’ve had love from my parents, siblings, friends, husband and children. Yet no love compares or is as complete as the love of God. His love brings me peace, understanding, confidence, and joy. When I choose to follow the Lord’s words, when I read His scriptures, repent of my mistakes, and follow the Spirit, I feel His love. When I am casual in living my faith, the Lord feels so far away. My life becomes distinguishably different. Less. With the Lord I am more. I am a more patient parent. I am a better spouse, a more attentive neighbor. I am happier. I want so dearly to live with God in His everlasting love, so I endeavor to live as He asks. I strive to fulfill my covenants with Him. I try to be pliable and compliant as He asks me to change and grow. I choose to live my faith and be a member of His church. I choose His love. I choose to be a Mormon.

How I live my faith

Nearly everyday of my life begins with reading my scriptures. It is my way to show the Lord, each day, that He is first in my life. I have learned to wake up earlier, so I could have my own private time to study. It is my time to learn, find inspiration and feel the Spirit. After the Lord, my family is most important. I love living every experience with them. I am so grateful I can be home with our children. I have every opportunity to be with them, to play with them, teach them and love them like no one else can. I understand now more than ever how being a family is central to God's plan. Together we learn and help each other be closer to God and Christ. My husband is my dearest friend. I try daily to find ways to meet his needs and show my love for him. I'm grateful for his faith in me and love for me. I am confident in his perspective and wisdom. One of my husband's greatest talents is to see the needs of those around him. Together we teach the importance of service to our children. We try to help our children recognize opportunities of service and then work together to give assistance. Service isn't always a big project, but it's an everyday event. Service requires a perspective outside ourselves. Service requires listening to the spirit and being willing to work, even if others are not. Service fosters confidence and self worth. It is a blessing and a way of life. It's our way to follow Christ's example and give all that we have.
