Hi I'm Zooey

I'm a wife, Mother and a Nana. I believe in preventive health. I enjoy educating others on preventive health. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have a B.S. degree in nutrition. I have written an educational down to earth self-help book on taking command of one's health. I have helped people find the root cause of their health challenge through a private consultation. Health is our greatest asset and I'm a firm believer in prevention. I love to read, learn new things, crafts, sewing, photography, table tennis, walking, writing, traveling and meeting new people. I have gone to boarding school in Gstaad, Switzerland and have traveled throughout Western & Eastern Europe, Australia, New Zealand, French Polynesia, Mexico, Canada and throughout the U.S. I am a wife, Mother and a Nana. I'm enjoying sewing different things for my new granddaughter.

Why I am a Mormon

My background is Jewish. I was raised by my mother who didn't believe in God or Jesus. She didn't believe because as a child she prayed her grandfather wouldn't die and he died. She never stopped me from going to church. I went to many Christian churches, a year of Jewish Sunday school and a month of Jewish camp while living with my dad. Also, for several years I went to the Church of Religious Science and Unity that are both metaphysical churches. During a difficult time in my life a friend introduced me to the Mormon Church. The missionaries came to my home and gave my son and me the discussions. My son was going to a Christian school and we needed to belong to a church so he could continue on going to the school. We were baptized. I never understood much what the missionaries were teaching at the time. I remarried and my husband was an inactive Mormon. When he asked if I'd marry him in the temple after thinking about it I said yes. We went back to church six years ago. The missionaries gave me the discussions again and this time I understood them. I know without a doubt this is Christs' church, there's a living prophet on the Earth today Thomas Monson and he holds all the keys. I know everything we are asked to do is for our own good to get to the celestrial kingdom and we will return home to be with our Father in Heaven.

How I live my faith

My first calling in our ward was compassionate service leader. This calling was a busy one. I was in charge of funeral luncheons and asked sisters to help with providing food for them. When someone had a baby I asked sisters to help provide food for this family. This was a wonderful calling because as a new member to this ward it gave me the opportunity to get to know different families and sisters. The last couple of years I've been the outreach service leader. I have found opportunities for our ward and stake to help out in the community. It's amazing how many wonderful opportunities there are in one's community to serve. I love visiting teaching. It gives me the opportunity to get to know my sister and her family better. I also love to do my genealogy work. I have the stake calling to work one morning a week at our family history center. I love helping patrons find information on their families. My husband and I were sealed in the temple five years ago. We try and make it to the temple often. I have done a lot of work for my relatives and look forward to doing more. We all go through adversities and living the Gospel has helped me to endure. I know our Heavenly Father and Jesus loves me. I have been blessed with so much and very grateful for my life.
