Hi I'm Tricia

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been married for 12 years and have two children, ages 6 and 8. I am a stay-at-home mom, but I am rarely home! In addition to being self employed part-time, I love to fill my time spending it with family and friends, volunteering at my kids' school, serving in the church. I love music and have a BA in music performance. Although I don't have much time right now to pursue educational and career goals, I look forward to being able to go back to school someday. I have many hobbies and love to try new things!

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised as a Mormon and have had it confirmed in my heart many times in my life that the Gospel of Jesus Christ, as taught in the Mormon church, is true. The primary difference between our church and many others is that we believe in continuing revelation. Because we believe this, we believe that there is scripture in addition to the Bible and we believe that there are prophets on the earth today. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet and that through him, the Lord reestablished His church on the earth. I also know that through Joseph Smith, the Lord gave us additional scripture - The Book of Mormon and the Doctrine and Covenants. I know that there are prophets on the earth today and that those men lead our church through revelation that they recieve from the Lord. I am grateful to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Because of its teachings I know who I am, where I came from and where I am going. I know that I am a daughter of a Heavenly Father who loves me. I lived with Him before I came to earth and I am here to learn and grow. If I stay true to the path that Heavenly Father has prepared for us, I will return to live with Him and my family forever. Because I am imperfect and make mistakes, Heavenly Father provided a Savior to atone for my sins, and it is through the Savior, Jesus Christ, that I will be able to return to my Father's presence. These things I know because I have felt the influence of the Holy Spirit and it has taught me that these things are true.

How I live my faith

I feel that the most significant way to live my faith is in the small and simple things that I strive to do everyday - pray, study scripture, serve others, etc. These things keep me in tune to my Heavenly Father and what He wants for me. Doing these things makes me happy! I enjoy volunteering in the church and in the community. At church I teach a scripture study class, I lead the children's program in my local congregation, I visit and serve other women and families in my local congregation, and I help out in any other way I can. I also volunteer at my children's school. I love being a part of their educational experience, getting to know the staff and other families at the school, and interacting with the other children at the school. I feel that the most important service I render is within my home. Although, like other moms, I spend alot of time preparing meals, doing laundry, washing dishes, and prodding children to do chores and homework, I know that the service I provide to my husband and children is the most important and rewarding work I do. The blessings of being a wife and mother far outweigh any sacrifices I make.
