Hi I'm Terrylynn

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am an animal lover! I currently run my own bussiness working with dogs. I train them and run them often walking 10-20km/ day... My hobbies consist of Hiking, running, Geneology, Sewing, scrapbooking, writting, reading...

Why I am a Mormon

I LOVE being a member of this church! I joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints when I was 15 years old I am the only member in my very small family... I have now been a member for 12 years goodness the time goes by quickly! I love the scriptures and the spirit I feel when I go to church, and institute... I love the Spiritual blessings and learning that takes place in the meetings and the discussions with my friends. I love that in the church we are given callings and responsibilities which might take us out of our comfort zones and help each one of us to grow through opportunities and in ways we might not normally do. I love the community and the love that is felt in the church, and the resources open to us... However as wonderful as all the above is the reason I am a member of this church is very simple! It is TRUE! How do I know it is true? Because Heavenly Father has testified of its truth through the power of the Holy Ghost. I have felt the confirmation of the spirit and have seen and felt that Christ’s church has been restored to the earth in the latter days. There is no greater blessing then the knowledge I have found in this church and the Knowledge that I continue to gain as I read and study the words of ancient and modern day prophets and revelation.

How I live my faith

I have had many responsibilities in the church otherwise known as callings. I have been responsible to aid in the organizing of activities for my various young single adult groups. I have worked with 11 and 12 year old girls during their weekly activity nights. I have participated in Visiting Teaching (this is where each month I and a designated companion go and visit different sisters in our respective congregations) Likewise other sisters will visit me. I love how in our church we call one another Brother and Sister... I remember thinking that it would be hard to get use too but it is such a wonderful recognition one to another as we are all equals in the Kingdom or God; Heavenly Father is no respecter of persons. Currently my responsibility is to take pictures of everyone in the ward individually and during our activities, I think the reason I have this calling is so that I am forced to interact with everyone which is something I am not always good at (a little shy and reserved). I live my Faith by not drinking, smoking or taking any harmful substances into my body (our bodies are a temple of God) I also live my Faith by keeping myself Clean and obeying the law of Chastity. I also do eat things which are healthy and Wholesome for me and I make sure I exercise regularly all of this is part of what is called the Word of Wisdom.

What are Mormon women like? Do Mormons believe in equality of men and women?

Yes we are equal. There is a great respect for women by the Bretheren in the church. We believe we each have our divine roles and purposes in the home. Eqaul does not mean the same. Husbands are encouraged where possible to be the Primary bread winners in the home and wives and Mothers are encouraged where possible to stay at home caring for the children. Show more Show less
