Hi I'm Sara

I am gluten free, not by choice. I love shopping, the beach, and my family and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a wife and a mother of four teenagers...3 boys and 1 girl. They are amazing people who are way smarter than I am, which I am so grateful for. My favorite things are spending time as a family on vacations at the beach and date nights with my husband (there is something so great about dating weekly, it helps us not lose sight of one another and what is really important, each other). I also love shopping for clothes, shoes, and home decor and I love going through closets dejunking and giving away whatever I am not using or want anymore. I absolutely love doughnuts but last year I got really sick and found out I have celiac disease so no more doughnuts for me . This has been really hard to learn to deal with and it takes a lot of work just to make sure I am eating right. Gluten is really hard to get away from...thankfully though stores and restaurants are offering more and more gluten free products/meals. I have also been blessed to be super sensitive, I cry at just about anything, movies, shows, commercials, books, people talking to me, anything that pulls at my heart. I tend to cry when I am happy or sad...my family is famous for saying "are you crying again"...the answer is always YES!

Why I am a Mormon

I first learned about The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints when I was in high school. The more I learned from friends about the church the more it all made sense. It just felt right in my heart and I would feel so happy thinking about it I knew it was the one and only true church on the earth. I have read and continue to read the Book Of Mormon daily, I also study the King James Version of the Bible, I know that both of these books are from God. These teachings could not be the teachings from a common normal man, I know they come from a loving and kind Father in Heaven (God) who wants us to know, learn, and apply his standards and teachings in our life. As I have learned through the Scriptures God's way I have come to know and rely on our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. The scriptures teach us that he is the way, the truth, and the life. As I have relied on Jesus Christ to help me overcome my sins, temptations, weaknesses, sorrows, frustrations, and trials (like celiac disease) I have felt an outpouring of his love for me and I have been strengthened through him. I know that Heavenly Father (God), Jesus Christ (God's son), and the Holy Ghost (a personage of spirit) are real and want what is best for us. Living the way we are taught in the scriptures has made me happier than I ever thought was possible.

How I live my faith

I live my Faith by praying for guidance and direction from our Father in Heaven. I know that I am not smart enough, wise enough, or even good enough to make it on my own. I recognize I need God's help and I seek it daily. I also study my scriptures everyday which helps me not to forget the commandments and the things God wants me doing. I encourage my children to pray and read their scriptures on their own so they can know for themselves what is true. I serve as a Sunday School teacher in my Ward and I love it. This year we are studying the Book of Mormon and I am continually amazed how these scriptures apply directly to our daily life. I am so grateful for Joseph Smith who was a simple normal boy who wanted to know what church was true and because he prayed and asked for himself we have the Book of Mormon for our day. I know Joseph Smith really did see Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ and I know we can know what is good and right and true when we pray and ask God any questions we have. He will answer us...he answers my prayers, a simple normal girl, everyday!
