Hi I'm Amy

I'm athletic. I love dogs. I joined the church a few years ago. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm in my 40's and am single. I have a 17-year-old son. I work full-time in the field of IT. I'm going to go back to school to get a master's degree. I love animals, especially dogs. I'm very athletic: like to run, play soccer, hike, swim, just about anything.

Why I am a Mormon

My family was a mix of Episcopalian and just plain old agnostic. I never really had any strong religious upbringing or beliefs. I've known lots of Mormons over the years. I always admired the strength of their families (in stark contrast to my own). All the Mormons I ever met were super nice and had strength of their convictions. I respected them but never thought to join them until just a few years ago. I have all the outward indicators of success: college degree, good job, nice house, nice family, good health. But I felt no purpose in life. I felt empty inside. I knew there had to be something more. That's what led me to investigate the church. After I pondered it for myself, I chose to join the church. Since joining, I have found hope, joy, purpose, direction and strength to deal with anything that life throws at me. You can have that too.

How I live my faith

I try to cheer up others who are feeling down; not just people in my church but neighbors or coworkers. My calling at church is to teach weekly lessons to teenage girls. I enjoy this because I learn a lot and it keeps me in touch with what it's like to be young.
