Hi I'm Doug

I am a CFO for a well known non-profit and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a husband and father. We have three great kids and a couple of grandkids. One of our sons served a mission and the other one is working and preparing. We enjoy the occassional empty nest but it keeps filling back up and that is nice also. We go for hikes in the wilderness almost out our back door if I get home from work on time. We love working in the temple and our ward callings. The service that we offer is what really blesses our lives. That is one reason I love my job at the non-profit. I feel like I am always giving back.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church. Graduated from Seminary and BYU and went on a mission. Those things were all great and taught me right from wrong, but my testimony, the real essence of it has come from the trials and tribulations of life and being on my knees trying to find answers. The very visual signs of a loving Heavenly Father and our Savior, and the spirit testifying of them is why I am who I am today.

How I live my faith

I love teaching 8 year olds in Primary about the love of Jesus for them. I also love to go to the temple and serve there. I work two night a week in the temple and love the appreciation that I feel from patrons, but I love even more being in the presence of the spirit and leaving the world behind for 7 hours.
