Hi I'm Chad

I'm a father, a husband, and a Systems Engineer. I live in Texas and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My wife and I have 4 children. The last two are 1 year old twin girls. They keep my wife and I busy, but they are also a lot of fun. I love spending time together as a family whether it is trips to Utah, Sea World, camping on the beach, or Disneyland. My family is my greatest source of both joy and responsibility. I really like working with "Big Physics" as a Systems Engineer on the edge of man's scientific discovery from the tiniest particle to the magnificent universe that God has created. We have learned a lot about both of these, but there is much we don't know, but I find comfort in knowing that God knows. My other hobbies include basketball, rock climbing, ultimate Frisbee, learning about anything medical related, and coaching my son's soccer team.

Why I am a Mormon

Mormons believe in all truth wherever it can be found, because God is the real source of all truth. I am not threatened at all by science or medicine because it is simply man's discovery of the things that God already knows. If you think about it our knowledge of these things grows little by little as we theorize and experiment and then by that we discover what is true and we throw out what is false. My personal learning about the gospel happens in a very similar way. The revealed gospel is true, but my understanding of it is limited. As I learn about, theorize, and experiment on the truths of the gospel, my knowledge of these things also grows little by little. I trust in God. I have stopped worrying that anything we learn will do anything but increase my and the world's understanding of the magnificent world God has created.

How I live my faith

My calling in the church has me working with the amazing youth. They face lots of challenges but I see many of them making choices that will keep them safe and lead them to true happiness, not the superficial excitement that can be so tempting to so many. I also visit members of my church unit in their home and share a message that they have asked me to focus on teaching their children. It is very fulfilling to teach things to these children that bring such meaning and happiness to my life and can bring such meaning and happiness to theirs.
