Hi I'm Kristen

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hi I am Kristen and I am a teacher, wife and mother. I have taught second and third grade for 3 years and am now a mom to a beautiful little girl. I absolutely love sports. I sign up for races to keep me motivated and love to try new things. I also enjoy making crafts such as, cards, sewing projects, scrapbooking, ect.. I love movies. I think I could watch one every night if I let myself. Mostly I just love spending time with my husband and daughter. They are what bring me the most amount of joy. I consider myself outgoing and adventurous.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a convert to the church. I was baptized when I was 18. I am now 26. I grew up in a great family. We went to church once in a while but it wasn't a focal point in my life. In high school I met my husband and I was struck by how he lived his life. I could tell there was something different about him. I began noticing that about my other LDS friends as well. We began having discussions about religion and our relationship with God. I realized I really had no idea where I stood. I then started to really pray and study about many different things. I spent about two years researching and studying. I met with several missionaries through out those two years. Not only did the church make the most sense to me but I really felt like it was true. I remember thinking that I was going to join a church that I felt followed what Jesus Christ taught and what he wanted the church to be. It was a very difficult thing with my family when I joined but as time has passed things have gotten so much better. They see that it makes me happy and has done good things in my life so they are supportive now. It was and still is the best decision I have ever made in my life.

How I live my faith

I attend church meetings every Sunday, and teach the 12 and 13 year old group for Sunday School. I visit three other women a month and teach a spiritual lesson in their home and check to see how they are doing. It is one of the great things about the church. It is so nice to have someone to talk to if you need and keeps me on track when I know to think about someone else. One thing I have learned is I need to live my faith on a daily basis, not just Sundays or when I go visit with the women in the church. I need to read my scriptures, pray and be living a Christ like life all the time. I used to tell people I was Christian but now looking back I didn't really even know what that meant. Now I feel like I can say that and feel good about it, because I am trying to follow Christ in every way possible.
