Hi I'm Mark

I'm a physical therapist. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I've been married for 23 years and have 4 children, ages 8 to 18. I've been a physical therapist for 19 years. I enjoy spending time with my family at home. I love spending time outdoors working in the garden or yard, or just walking through the woods that surround our home. I'm a fanatic about vacations and travelling to see new places. I like planning vacations almost as much as taking them. I have always loved sports, both participating and spectating. I'm a Brigham Young University sports fanatic. I'm a life-long member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I grew up in Utah, have lived in Idaho and Wyoming, and have now lived in Washington for the past 13 years.

Why I am a Mormon

I've always been a member of this Church. However, I've learned that anyone who continues to be actively involved in this Church into their adult years has to be converted. It was no different for me. Growing up in the Church definitely helped define and shape who I am, but their came a time when I realized I had to know if I was a member because of the "traditions of my fathers", or if I really believed it was the true Church of Jesus Christ on the earth today. I went through the same process that anyone who investigates this Church has to go through. I had to study it out, then pray with all seriousness, in the name of Jesus Christ, to know if it was true. I received an assurance, through the Holy Spirit, that this is the "only true and living Church" upon the face of the earth. I not only felt that assurance at that singular moment, but I was reminded of many, many experiences I had had as a youth that had witnessed to me the truth of these things. I continue to receive light and knowledge as I study and pray that confirms my faith and beliefs.

How I live my faith

I have served in the Church in many different capacities, from missionary to primary teacher, to bishop. Currently I work with the young full-time Missionaries in coordinating their efforts with the efforts of my Ward (or congregation) to tell others about the "Good News" of the Gospel. All of my experiences have led me to have a greater love for my Savior Jesus Christ, and a gratitude to him for restoring his Church in these, the "latter-days", through his Prophet Joseph Smith. This Church and Gospel bring to me an indescribable peace. I know that I have nothing to fear if I will be faithful to Jesus Christ and His Church.
