Hi I'm Mark!

A Marathoner. A Missionary. A Mormon.

About Me

I am a college student with dreams and hopes of law school. I am a thrill seeker; whether that be skydiving, SCUBA diving or simply busting out a 90 mile hike to the peak of Mt. Whitney. I am a California boy, born in the suburbs and sand. I absolutely love sports and anything associated with such. I am the 3rd child of 4. And now, I'm serving a 2 year mission sharing what I believe in Alaska.

Why I am a Mormon

Simply put: because its true. The love that this church displays, the love that this church knows and the love that I feel from my Heavenly Father are undeniable. That is the basis to the foundation of all that we believe. I have felt that love continually throughout my life as I have been involved in my moral standards and shared Christ's gospel in Alaska. I know that Christ is my brother and best friend. I know that the pain, suffering, agony and death He went through was for me; and us. That was out of His and Heavenly Father's perfect and overwhelming love. Just by the simple fact that this is Christ's church restored from his mortal ministry in complete harmony and exactness, I love this church. Why wouldn't I want to be a part of a church that Christ himself is the head of?

How I live my faith

Service. That is the thing that I have embodied as a mormon. That is the thing that I hold fast to. I love to help those that are in need, those that don't think they need, and everyone around me. This includes my serving a two year mission. My only goal (well...exaggeration) in this life is to make others smile in some way shape or form. Also, I live my faith through internalizing all its principles and obeying the commandments of our Father in Heaven. Granted, I'm not perfect (and never will be), but part of obedience is that of changing ourselves or actions when we need to. I try to do the best that I can to be a good example of what and who I represent.

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

Mark!
No. Definitely not. We love everyone and will help everyone. The example that we try to emulate is that of the Savior, Jesus Christ. Just has his ministry wasn't focused on any single group of people, we help all those that we can. This includes missionary work throughout the globe, aiding in natural disasters or simply the classic senario of helping an old lady across the street. Nobody can escape. We want to build up and help everyone we can. Show more Show less
