Hi I'm Amy
I am a mother looking for any extra energy that my 4 beautiful, but very active boys have sucked right out of me, usually by 9am! I have an amazing Husband who is not a member of the church (yet). I try to balance my children, the housework and a family business. I love to spend time with my kids who love to skateboard, play baseball and wrestle with each other every minute of the hour.
Why I am a Mormon
I am a Mormon because I believe in Jesus Christ. Growing up with no particular religion I thought I knew that God and Jesus Christ existed, but I didn't have a personal relationship with Him, Them...I didn't even know if They were two different people or the same. It was when the gospel was introduced to my brother that I noticed a positive change in his life and after nine years of him sharing his joy and his testimony with me, I then desired the same thing. I remember having the desire to know my Heavenly Father on a personal basis and began to pray and read the Book of Mormon. I knew that the gospel was true for my brother, but wanted to know for my self. As I softened my heart and read with real intent, having faith that the Book of Mormon was the true word of God, I realized a new feeling I was experiencing. The spirit. I felt good when I read, I felt a real connection with God and Jesus Christ. I prayed to know if the words in the Book of Mormon were true, if indeed they were another testament of Jesus Christ along with the Bible. Knowing that this would be a huge change for me, knowing that I may be going at this alone, as my husband and friends were not members of the church. I soon realized that Heavenly Father was there for me, helping me be strong, delivering me from temptation and reminding me that I was a child of his, who he loved. The spirit of the Holy Ghost bore witness to me that the Book of Mormon is true and that Jesus Christ has restored his church on the earth and we do have a living Prophet today, Prophet Thomas S. Monson. I strengthen my Faith by trusting God and Jesus Christ. I seek Their guidance on a daily basis and strive to do better each day. I am so grateful to know that my sins have been forgiven, and as I know I am not perfect, the atonement is here for me to utilize, to become a better person and learn from my mistakes as I ask for forgiveness and desire to become more like Him.
How I live my faith
I enjoy developing friendships with other members in my church by visiting teaching. It gives me the opportunity to get to know these ladies that I may have not otherwise. I have fun each month putting together a newsletter for my church. I also like to set aside time to volunteer within my church and community.
