Hi I'm debbie

i'm from arkansas, i'm a mom and grammy. i love the scriptures, i love football, and i'm a mormon.

About Me

i'm a redhead, and that's my temperament, too! i have four children and three grandsons, but i still feel young. i grew up in arkansas and moved to utah to attend byu. there i met my husband (on a blind date, 30 years ago) and since he was in the air force, our journey began. we've lived around the world and all over the united states. we ended up in san antonio, tx where we still are today. i have three brothers who adore me (or so they say!). i love to watch and play football at any level. i actually love all sports; basketball and soccer and baseball are fun, too. for fun i make wooden signs and greeting cards to sell and i scrapbook. i love to read and spend a lot of time with my kindle. i enjoy renewing friendships on facebook if i can avoid all the drama. i was a cheerleader in high school, after the football coach wouldn't let me play. i try to have a positive attitude but i do get depressed at times. i love my crazy family and my crazy life!

Why I am a Mormon

i did not become a mormon because it is easy, because some of the time it's not. i did not join the mormon church because my parents are members or my ancestors crossed the plains with a handcart company, although all this is true. i joined the mormon church because i read the book of mormon and prayed about it and received an answer that it is true. i wanted to be like other people i met at church; to be kind and accepting and nice to others. i belong to this church because i gained a personal testimony that it is the true church and the religion for me. the Lord still has a prophet on the earth today. Christ speaks to us in these days..isn't that amazing??. there are temples, such as solomon's, being built today. these are all answers i have looked for as an adult even though i was baptized in my youth. i have found them all within the walls of this church. i know what a blessing it is to have a prophet speak to us. i am grateful for the agency to be able to choose to follow the prophet and to make my own choices. i love the gospel. this church has brought peace into my life when i was in pain and brought much joy and happiness and peace of mind to me. i can't imagine living my life without it. life is hard and brings with it many trials, but i can face those things better with my faith in Jesus Christ and my Heavenly Father. i can do all things through Christ, who strenthens me.

How I live my faith

i live my faith by trying to follow the example Christ set while he was on the earth. he led the way down the path of how we should live our life. i try to read the scriptures daily and learn from them. i try to be kind to others and to treat my family with love and patience. i try to serve others who need my help. i attend church on sunday whenever i can (i have illnesses that prevent me from attending every week). i try to treat others the way i'd want to be treated. i attend the temple as possible also. i have faith in Christ and a love for other people. i know through much prayer and through fasting for answers, that the church i belong to is the right one, the correct one on this earth and i am blessed to belong to it. i'm grateful for all that the lord has blessed me with and i strive to be like him.
