Hi I'm Miki

I'm a Mormon. I love children. My husband and I have 11 children who are all married. We have fun when we get together.

About Me

Sewing my children's clothes and teaching them how has brought great satisfaction to me. I taught sewing in 4-H when my children were younger and even the boys learned to sew. Before they all left home they each had to buy the groceries and prepare a meal. They all had to make bread. They learned to clean the bathroom which helped the boys on their missions. Now I sew blessing dresses for my grandchildren and make banners for the high school. I made all my girls, prom dresses and some for granddaughters as well. I also like to read.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints since I was 8 years old. At first I relied on my parents and followed their examples. Now that I am older I have gained a testimony for myself. I am so thankful to have had the gospel in my home to raise my children. They have learned good values and are teaching their children. When you know the purpose of life and know that there is life after death, you want to live a life of integrity. You want to live worthy to return to live with Heavenly Father. When I drive down the highway and see the beautiful things around me, I know that there is a Heavenly Father and that he loves me.

How I live my faith

I am the president of the women's organization called the Relief Society. Just a few nights ago we had an old-fashioned pot luck dinner. Each of the women brought something to eat. We ate and visited and got to know each other better. Before I was in the Relief Society, I was in the nursery and taught the 2 and 3 year old children. Throughout my time in the church I have been many years in the nursery. I also taught children in Primary. I love music and have played the organ in church and also led the music. I have been the president of several of the church organizations. Planning youth conferences, handcart treks, and dance festivals was part of my responsibilities as the president of the Young Women. I love to help out in the school. I helped second grade children read. I worked in the public library for a while as the children's librarian. The children would come with their school class and I would read to them or do experiments that were in some of the books.
