Hi I'm Ben

I live in Washington State where I enjoy family, friends, fishing and basketball, and yes, I'm a Mormon.

About Me

About Me? What is there to tell? To date... There's roughly 41 years worth of telling to do. - Grew up in Washington State where I truly enjoyed my youth - I lost a very good friend, my youngest sister and oldest brother all within 6 months of one another when I was 19 - I'm married to a wonderful woman who I have 4 amazing kids with - I work for a major corporation where we provide value and positive results to our clients - I love fishing, spending time with family and friends and serving others - Did I say I love fishing? I love fishing Alright, enough about me. Though I'm sure there's a lot more to tell. I'm only allowed 1500 characters so I'll save the novel for another day.

Why I am a Mormon

Though I was baptized into membership in the Mormon faith when I was 8 years old, I may not have completely known 100% that the Church of Jesus Christ was true. It wasn't until I was in my late teens, when my friend, my sister and brother had passed away, each in individual accidents, that I truly sincerely started praying and studying the Bible and Book of Mormon to seek answers to the truthfulness of the church I already belonged to. On many occasions in the scriptures the Lord makes many promises; you do this and I the Lord will do that. So, I studied and prayed and continued that pattern. I promised the Lord one thing, I wasn't going to stop that pattern until I had an answer, yes or no. The answer wasn't like anything jumping out and yelling YES!!! It was more like a quiet peaceful feeling covering me entirely; like a hug from a family member you've missed for years and finally had the occasion to see one more time. I'm a Mormon because I know the Church of Jesus Christ is true from the witness of the spirit that I have personally received. I know where I came from, why I'm here and where I'm going. I know Christ lives, He loves each and everyone who has ever lived and who ever will live. I know He gave all so I personally could return to Him someday. I'm a Mormon because I put Gods promise to the test and He, like He always does, answered me as I humbly sought Him out. Being a Mormon isn't just me being a member of "a" religion. It's me belonging to the church that God himself directs through a true prophet through revelation even today. It's His Church and it's nice to know that I'm where He wants me to be.

How I live my faith

I live my faith one breath at a time. I learn what I can, at a pace that's comfortable for my learning style and put into practice those teachings I've taken in. I'm nowhere near perfect and therefore repentance is always something I rely upon and am thankful for. I try to do unto others as I would have done to me. My path may be a bit of a squiggly line towards the destination I seek, but with the Lord on my side and with continuous efforts on my part, I have full faith that He will see me through if I just give my 100% and leave the rest in His hands. I love the Lord and love serving Him.

How can I know Mormonism is true?

If I'm wanting a Ford Mustang, I'm not going to look at a Chevy Camaro to find out about the Mustang. To know if the Mormon church is true, put the Bible and Book of Mormon's promise to the test by studying the Book of Mormon and sincerely praying about it until you receive your answer and like I did, don't stop until you receive your answer. Do everything you can to know of its truthfulness and I promise, you will receive the answer you seek. Show more Show less
