Hi I'm Tami.

I'm happy. I believe in Christ. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hi! I have been married to my best friend for 19 years and I'm a mom of 5. I know most of the Disney movies by heart and when I am driving in the car, I will probably be listening to Kids Bop, Justin Beiber or The Laurie Berkner Band. Although it embarrasses my family, I have been known to whip out some cool dance moves from the 80's&90's when a song comes on the radio from MY day. Or, even worse, when I have my iPod in while I am around the house, I sing AND dance! It makes me happy and I think that I actually entertain the family. :) I just got a Silhouette SD cutter and a pressure canner. I am SO EXCITED to make stuff! I'm not crafty by nature, but I enjoy figuring things out and ending up with something that looks good! I have yet to build a rain gutter bookshelf or refinish my cabinets, but the desire is there...just not the time...YET! I also planted my first garden this year! Well, actually my father-in-law planted it when he was visiting in July. Can't wait to bake some zucchini bread! Oh, and I love to use coupons...'nuff said. :) My favorite thing to do on the weekend is go on a DATE with my hubby! I look forward to it and have fun planning what to wear or what color I will paint my nails. After all these years, I still get butterflies in my stomach when he holds my hand or smiles at me. The best thing I did, back in 1992, was to say YES when he asked me out on a date.

Why I am a Mormon

I was brought up as a Mormon. My parents are both active Mormons. My grandparents and great grandparents were Mormon, too. I have trail blazing, courageous ancestors who heard the message of the Restored Gospel and sacrificed many things to do what they knew to be right and true. All of my relatives, since then, have had their own experiences that have caused them to stay faithful. And when I was a teenager, I had many questions and doubts about if God was really there and if He would answer my prayers. But, what I found when I talked to Him in prayer was a sure and undeniable feeling that I am His daughter and He loves me! As I prayed to find out if THIS church was true, I was given moments of peace and joy...and a feeling that I didn't need another answer because I already KNEW it was true. Jesus Christ really DID live and die for ME. He atoned for MY sins...and He did it because He loves me. Because of Him, I can repent. Because of Him, I will have a forever family. Jesus Christ DID visit Joseph Smith and His church was brought again--in its FULNESS--to the earth! Isn't that just wonderful!? There IS a plan. Our Father in Heaven is mindful of each one of his children. The Holy Ghost has testified this truth to my heart and soul.

How I live my faith

Now that I have been given a sure knowledge that THIS is the true church of Jesus Christ, I am trying to pattern my life after His. He went and touched the people one by one...by teaching them, by serving them and by loving them. I know that HE is a perfect example of how I should lead my life. Sometimes it isn't easy to look beyond my own "things". Getting wrapped up in my many lists and to-dos does distract me. But, I am trying...and that is what's expected! I currently serve in the young women's organization in our area. We have activities during the week and we spend an hour together on Sunday. The girls I serve are amazing individuals and I love being around their energetic, happy-ness! They are smart and confident. I feel like my purpose in the organization is to teach them about Jesus Christ and help them understand that THEY are also daughters of a Heavenly Father...and if He loves me, then I KNOW He loves them too! I also have a chance to go visit 3 other women each month. I have a "companion" that I go with...we have so much fun together! We share a gospel message, hold their new babies, do dishes, babysit kids, make meals...whatever those ladies need! We have learned to love them by serving them. And if you live on one of their streets, we have probably brought in your trashcan or put your paper on your porch! When we are focused on others, it makes us happy and we do weird things like that! :)
