Hi I'm Ashley

I was born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada. I earned a degree in Neuroscience, I'm a mom and I live in the midwest. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was raised in Las Vegas and lived there my whole life; however, the glitz and the glam didn't keep me there forever. I traveled a lot during high school- England, France, Italy, Korea, China, Mexico, Haiti, Canada, Jamaica, just to name a few. I then attended BYU, where I majored in Neuroscience and graduated 3 years later. Following graduation, I married the love of my life and moved to Kentucky. I am a mother to 2 wonderful little boys. They are the joys of my life. I love to cook, read recipes, sew, exercise (especially run), play with my kids and sing. I dream of service-oriented traveling with my husband and watching my children grow.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because we believe families can be together forever, not just for this life. The relationships that we are working on in this life, like our marriage, will not be only "until death do us part", but throughout all eternity. We believe that God is our Heavenly Father, the Father of our spirits. He loves us, and we can communicate with him through prayer. We believe that Christ died for our sins, that he is our Savior and that through him, we can return to heaven. We believe that we will one day return to our Father in Heaven and live in His presence for eternity. Our beliefs are encouraging, loving, and uplifting.

How I live my faith

As all members of our faith, I participate fully in our local ward. We don't have a paid clergy, so it is our responsibility to prepare lessons to teach each other, to read our scriptures and to make sure that we are prepared to participate in the lessons that others teach to us. I live my faith by being a diciple of Christ, by being a good mother to my boys and by being an upstanding member of society. My current personal responsibility at church is to coordinate the music for all of the meetings. It is such a wonderful opportunity to be able to use my talents to enrich the lives of others. Music is a big part of my life and my family's life. I am grateful for the opportunity to share that with others.

What is the Word of Wisdom that Mormons talk about?

Ashley
The Word of Wisdom is a law the Lord has given us to keep our bodies and minds healthy and strong. We don't use Tobacco, Alcohol, Coffee, Tea or Illegal drugs. We also are encouraged to eat meat sparingly, eat from the earth and to exercise often, among other things. These encoragements aren't for any other reason than to benefit us. The Lord loves us and wants us to live full lives. We can have a clear mind by not using substanced that can cloud our judgement; we can have healthy bodies by not eating or drinking things that aren't good for us and by exercising regularly. I have a testimony of the Word of Wisdom. By obeying this law, we can keep our bodies and our minds healthy and strong. In return, we are promised great physical and spiritual blessings, of which I have received. Show more Show less
