Hi I'm Tammy

I am a mother of seven, nurse, outdoor enthusiast, and LOVE life!! I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a wife and mother of seven children. Our second child, a daughter, died of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) at the age of ten weeks. Because of this life changing event, I enjoy each day and strive to live life to its fullest. I have worked as a Registered Nurse at a large medical center for over thirty years. I am a scouter and have encouraged our five boys to receive their Eagle Scout award. I love hiking, camping, reading, NEBRASKA volleyball and sleeping. I enjoy sharing my love of camping with others, especially young women and women. I am best causing mischief; my favorite is toilet papering homes.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was 13 years old, my Methodist Youth Fellowship group wanted to learn about other religions. I was assigned the Mormon church since my best friend was Mormon. While the missionaries were teaching me I received this warm feeling that assured me that our Father in Heaven would not leave us without his divine guidance, a Prophet, during the last days. I read the Book of Mormon and then prayed to see if it was true. My heart swelled within me, I have no doubt that it is true. Our Savior, Jesus Christ taught his people in the Western Hemisphere through Prophets and then by appearing to the righteous after his resurrection. I love to read the Book of Mormon! My parents didn't allow me to be baptized until I was 16 years old. During those three years I became more committed to the gospel of Jesus Christ. I am very thankful for the missionaries that first taught me the gospel and the wonderful Elders who were instrumental in allowing me to be baptized. After our daughter died, my love of the Lord's plan grew. I am thankful for the Temples that dot the earth, where ordinances are performed to seal families for all time and eternity.

How I live my faith

I love learning more about Jesus Christ and sharing what I have learned with the Youth in our Church. I try to spend a few hours each week reading and studying the New Testament. In January I will rotate my studies to another book of scripture. I strive to not sweat the small things in life, to remember I am on earth to keep the covenants I have made, to be a better me. And to follow my Savior by helping those around me. I LOVE life!!!
