Hi I'm Kjersten

I am an Artist, a writer, an animal lover, a missionary, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I love art, all kinds of art. I prefer useing Pen and Copic Markers but I paint and sketch, among other things. I love to write, I haven't published anything as of yet, but I love to write a veriety of stories, namely fantasy/scifi. I enjoy the outdoors, camping and Hikeing, just enjoying nature has to be one of my favorite weekend activities. I love to discover new things, new places and meet new people wherever I go. I love to travel and write about what I see and who I meet. I LOVE animals! All kinds of animals, I am allergic to them but that doesn't stop me ^.^ , I adore them all. Most of all I love to share the Gospel. As a missionary I am blessed with the opertunity to go out each day and do just that. Every day me and my companion teach the people of in West Virginia Charleston Mission (West Virgina, Virginia, Ohio, Kentucky....) with the desire to see them find the joy that we have and to see them come closer to Jesus Christ. There is no greater Joy then seeing the people I have come to love find peace and joy.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Dary saints but I was not 'converted' until later in my life. When we moved away from Utah I started to see the difference in those that had the Gospel in their lives and those that did not. All my life I took the church for granted and never really thought about what it really meant. I said all the right things, went through all the actions but it didn't mean much to me until I desided I needed to read the Book Of Mormon from cover to cover to find out for myself what made this church so different from all the rest. It wasn't until I finished the Book of Mormon and knelt by my bed to ask the Lord sincerely if the Book of Mormon was true and if this church is true. I did not get my answer right away, it came slowly but it came in the Lords time. When I did find my answer I found that joy that I had been missing and found myself wanting to share it with those who don't have it. That's why I am a Mormon, this is Christ's church on the earth today, this is the answer.

How I live my faith

Being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is not just going to church every week and saying the right things, it is a way of life that I am proud and happy to live. there is more joy and happiness found in what the Lord has to offer then what anything else has to offer. The pleasure that comes from drinking, smoking, Coffee, tea, etc.. Is only temporary, what the Lord has to offer when we keep the commandments and listen to Him, is eternal and will bring us greater joy in this life and the next. The best way I know how to live my faith is by not being afraid to be who I am and not being afraid to make changes in myself to become more Christ like. By helping others realize that they to can find the happiness I have found and come closer to our savior Jesus Christ. By being an example to those around me and showing what I believe in my words and actions. By serving a full time mission, going day in and day out serving and loving the people. I live my faith by attending Church every week and showing my gratitude to Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ by obeying the commandments and keeping the covenants I made when I was baptized and when I attended the Temple. I live my faith every day to the best of my ability, I am human and make mistakes but I do the best I can and do better the next day.

What is the difference between attending church and the temple?

Kjersten
Our churches are dedicated buildings where anyone is welcome to come worship and pray with us. we go every week to gather as Saints and to partake of the sacrament to renew those covenents we make at baptism. It is also a time we can learn from each other and grow spiritualy. The Temple is a sacred building, the House of The Lord. we attend the Temple as often as opurtunity arises to preform sacred ordinances nede4d to obtain eternal life. The Temple is a sacred place, not secret, but but Sacred. We keep it Sacred by limiting access to worthy members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (those who willingly obay Gods commandments). Show more Show less

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

Kjersten
No we don't worship the Prophet Joseph Smith, we worship out Eternal Father in Heaven and His risen Son Jesus Christ. We do revrence Joseph Smith as a servent of the Lord and respect him and his service in restoring the Gospel. We follow the Prophet and listen to his councel and direction becouse he, like prophets of old (Moses, Abraham...etc...), has been called of God and speaks the words that God would have us hear.
