Hi I'm Nathan

I am a 68 year old retired Police Officer and School Security Chief. I grew up in the Western United States. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I relish the outdoors and shooting. I enjoyed my years of service as a Military and Police Firearms Instructor. I am the Father of four and Grandfather of 13.

Why I am a Mormon

I found and joined the Church in my early 20"s thanks to the beautiful girl who lived next door in my apartment complex. She was different and I immediately recognized it was her religion that made her so. I started asking lots of questions. One day she said she didn't know all of the answer to my questions but knew two guys who did. I said "send them over I want to talk to them". Soon the Missionaries knocked on my door. I was Baptized two weeks later. That beautiful girl next door and I were married and sealed in the temple for time and all eternity a year later. I immediately recognized the truth of the Gospel when I heard it and know without doubt the Church is true. I testify that by following the teachings of Jesus Christ we can return to live with him in eternity. I know Joseph Smith was a Prophet chosen to restored the true Gospel to the earth and I know President Thomas S. Monson is the prophet today!

How I live my faith

I have had the privilege of being a Boy Scout Leader in the church for 22+ years and I was also a Police Explorer Adviser for 11 of those years. I am currently the Stake Eagle Scout Specialist. I love my country, I was actively engaged in 4 years of High School ROTC, served in the Army National Guard and as a full time and reserve Police Officer for 30 Years. I consider myself a Patriot and do what ever I can to promote patriotism and respect for our inspired Constitution by participating in community and Church activities, programs and events.

Why are only some Mormons allowed into temples? Is there something secret going on in Mormon Temples? What goes on in Mormon Temples?

In order to attend the temple members must vocalize and demonstrate through the way they live their lives that they are in harmony with the churches teachings and beliefs. The Temple ordinances are not secret but sacred. Thus they are not made public to be held up to ridicule or speculation by those who do not understand. The covenants or promises made to the Lord in the Temple are nothing more than any Cristian, desirous of living a good life, would be willing to commit to and are consistent with the principals of living ones life righteously.
