Hi I'm Dennis

I'm a Mormon. I have a wife and 5 daughters and own a funeral home.

About Me

I live in the Lewis-Clark Valley composed of Lewiston, Idaho and Clarkston, Washington. I have moved quite a bit after being born here. Some places include Blackfoot, Idaho; Seattle, Washington; area's around Kentucky while a missionary; Portland, Oregon; Vancouver, Washington and then back to the L-C Valley. I am married with 5 daughters and that is what keeps me busy. I am part owner at Vassar-Rawls Funeral Home in Lewiston with 2 others. I attended Ricks College(BYU-Idaho now), Lewis-Clark State College in Lewiston and Mt. Hood Community College in Gresham, Oregon. Some things that I am involved in is the Lewiston Orchards Kiwanis Club, Idaho District II football Ref. and Nez Prece County Parole & Probation Accountability Board. I enjoy fishing and hunting when I can find the time......I love to camp and hike, spend time at my daughters sporting events and other activities. I spend plenty of time at my job, in church callings and activities as well. My most favorite thing of all is to take 'mini' vacations with my wife.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents were converts to the church and I was born a member. Because of my parents example and from following they're teachings in our home, I was blessed to stay an active member. I served a 2 year mission for the church in Kentucky and have been going strong ever since. Through everything I've said, done, or experienced the Gospel of Jesus Christ has been the one constant anchor in my life. I have been blessed immeasurably from holding to its truths and following the Saviors guidance. There are very few things I know, but I know that this is the true Church of Jesus Christ. It is lead by a Prophet, Thomas S. Monson. Joseph Smith was a true Prophet and he did translate the Book of Mormon. The Book of Mormon is Scripture and has meaning for us today. The Savior, Jesus Christ is real and atoned for all our sins. These things are real and I hold to them.

How I live my faith

I currently am called to serve as a member of the High Council for the Lewiston Idaho Stake. It is a very rewarding thing to serve there and have the responsibility to help assist the Young Women's Organizations throughout our Stake. I guess that having 5 daughters will prep a guy to handle this type of job. I have an assignment to visit 5 families each month in the ward(congregation) that my family attends. I truly love this job the most. Visiting people and being able to gab with them is my greatest skill set. I exercise this talent often and regularly. Living here where your known by many makes it easier to live the way you know and follow what you profess. I love to work in the church and it helps me live my faith to the fullest.
