Hi I'm Vickie

I'm a wife, mom, sister & friend. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Being on earth today is such a wonderful thing! As a cancer survivor, I am grateful for every extra day I get to spend with my family and friends. One of my goals is to do something kind for someone else every single day. I've discovered that serving others makes me happy. As a bonus, I feel like I'm giving a little back to my Heavenly Father who has already given me so much.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised as a faithful Mormon. When I was a teenager, my Dad was killed and for the first time, I had to confront violence and grief, and then find peace in my beliefs. I can tell you that a loving Heavenly Father did not leave my family alone and bereft during this difficult time. I know that my Dad is waiting on the other side for those of us who love him. I look forward to a great reunion someday. In the meantime, being a Mormon shapes every thing I do. Whether I'm talking to my Heavenly Father through prayer, finding answers to life's questions in the scriptures, or surrounding myself with people who make me want to be better, being a Mormon is the foundation of my life.

How I live my faith

I met and married my husband before I could finish college. That hasn't stopped me from a love of learning. As an avid reader, I find that so much of what we read in the scriptures is applicable to us today...if we take the time to understand what we're reading. I'm fortunate to teach an adult Sunday School class. This gives me an opportunity every week to dive headfirst into the Bible and Book of Mormon and then share what I've learned with my peers. I'm also a music lover, and have found that music oftentimes touches hearts more poignantly than any spoken word.
