Hi I'm Jacob

I grew up in a small town in Arizona called Taylor. I have an amazing family that has taught me to follow Christ's example.

About Me

My name is Jacob, I am 23 years old. I have a great mixed family. My dad who was a police officer died in the line of duty when my mom was pregnant with me and she remarried when i was about a year old. This brought a whole new perspective to my life as my family went from just having 3 brothers to having 6 brothers and two sisters. It has been great blessing in my life to have such a large and loving family. I have been a mormon my whole life and looking back on it, i have realized that it has greatly influenced my life for the better. So many crucial deciding points in my life were aided tremendously because i had the gospel and the holy ghost in my life. Just a little bit about myself. I have alot of interest in the human body and the things it can do. I try to keep myself in tip top shape although I don't really play sports professionally or anything like that. I ran a marathon this past year and im probably addicted to going to the gym haha. I enjoy feeling stronger and fit. This has played an important part in my decision to go into the medical field. Right now im attending college to go into the nursing program to become a nurse anesthesist. I work at General Nutrition Center selling supplements and i have enjoyed learning about all of the different products and what they can do. That kind of describes my interest and hobbies. I love to exercise, i love the church, my friends, and most of all my family.

Why I am a Mormon

My decision to be a member of the church was kind of made for me as i was born into the church. But when i was a teenager my mother as wise as she is told me that it was now up to me to decide if i was going to go to church each sunday and participate in the church. I had been taught since i was young enough to even understand the alphabet what the restored gospel of Jesus Christ was and at this time of deciding whether i would stay with the church or not i was taught an important step in truely understanding the gospel. I had a teacher of the church explain to me one day that in the church we dont force people to be mormon, or even try to convince them that the church is true. What we do is explain the facts as we know them and ask others to find out for themselves what is true. I was invited to pray to God, the one who will never lie to you, and ask him if the what i had been taught all those years of my youth was true. So that night i read from the Book of Mormon and decided to pray to know if it was true and subsecquently if Joseph Smith really saw what he said he saw and was a true prophet. When i prayed i felt an overwhelming feeling of peace that just filled the room and the only words that would come to my mind were, it is true you have known it all along. I had been a member all my life but it was at that moment that i truely was converted to the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. And my life has been greatly blessed because of it.

How I live my faith

I live my faith day to day. Some days are better than others but i always have a desire to be a better man and disciple of Jesus Christ. I have a calling in my young single adults branch of the church that has greatly humbled me and helped me to learn many new things that i probably wouldn't have been able to learn with it. Im the leader for the young single adult men and i feel the responsibilty of it on my shoulders each day when i kneel to pray. But with this calling i have been able to make many friends and serve others in a way that has richly blessed my life. I am able to learn many new things about the Gospel and Jesus Christ himself because I learn to teach it to others.
