Hi I'm Janelle

I'm an English major, a music lover, a world traveler, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hello! Right now, I'm serving as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Taipei, Taiwan. I love my life! I get to spend all day, every day testifying of our Savior, Jesus Christ. Latter-Day Saints can chose to serve volunteer missions to serve their brothers and sisters throughout the world. We do many service projects to help the people in our specific area, but the most wonderful thing we share is the reality of our loving Heavenly Father, His Plan for us, and His son Jesus Christ, who is the center of that plan. As a missionary, my purpose is to invite others to come unto Christ by helping them receive the restored gospel though faith in Jesus Christ and His atonement, repentance, baptism, receiving the gift of the holy ghost, and enduring to the end. After my mission, I plan to continue my education at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, where I am working towards an English degree and a music minor-- with a focus of music media (singing and songwriting, voice, piano, and guitar). Some other things I have been enjoying at BYU are dancing on the folk dance team and singing with the choir. When I return to school, I will be able to live with my family who just moved to Utah. My parents are there serving missions as well! They will serve as mission presidents in the Provo mission for three years. I'm excited that I will be so close to them while I finish college. I love my family so much!

Why I am a Mormon

I love my Heavenly Father and His Son, Jesus Christ so much. They are why I decided to join this church and why I continue to follow His gospel. They love me so much, and I feel Their love, so I can't help but love them back. When you really come to know your Savior, He doesn't only save you, but He changes you. He helps you reach your potential. Through His atonement, you have the ability to have all that the Father Has, to become like Him and His Son. I grew up in the gospel, and was taught by amazing parents, but their testimony is not mine. The truth of the gospel is something you have to find out for yourself, by the convincing power of the Holy Ghost that will burn within in you when you seek out truth. If you want to know what your purpose is on this earth, and if this really is the true church, study and ponder the scriptures, and pray to God the Father, in the name of His Son, Jesus Christ, if it is true. If you show Him that you really want to know, and believe in Him, He will answer you. He has answered me. I have felt the Spirit as I've sought for truth. Sometimes it is hard to recognize, but it always comes with an assurance of truth. You can find out for yourself too. God loves you and He wants to answer you. You are His child.

How I live my faith

I am about to go to Taiwan to share my testimony of Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ to anyone that will listen. I want to bring people to Christ and let them feel the joy and peace that comes from living His gospel. I will also be able to participate in many service projects over there to attend to people's physical and spiritual needs. Throughout my membership in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints I have had the opportunity to serve in many areas. Besides participating in service projects, I have taught lessons, planned activities, led music, and played the piano/organ for my church. I've been given the opportunity to share the talents I have been given with those around me. I love to know that I can be of help to others and serve them in any way I can. The way I life my faith is evident in each area of my life. People who know me, know that I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. They can tell by my actions, and because I stand for what I believe. I am not ashamed of my beliefs, and I am not ashamed of the gospel of Jesus Christ. It fills me with happiness, peace, love, and joy. It is everything wonderful.
