Hi I'm Dave

I grew up in the South in a little town in Georgia, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am going to college to become a Physicians Assistant, I have a year and a half left to get my Bachelor's degree, and then 2 more years of P.A. school after that. I did scouting when I was younger, doing many hikes and some really fun camping. When I was in my teens I did Taekwondo, and got a first degree Black Belt. Juggling is a hobby that I really enjoy but don't do enough. Running and lifting weights is my current favorite hobbies.

Why I am a Mormon

The basis of why I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, is because of the peace that has come to me as I have lived the principles of the one who leads this Church, Jesus Christ. Through His apostles and Prophets, He has given us words that can help direct us to have more success in life. Success is defined as we love and serve one another this brings happiness to me even though I may be sacraficing what I naturally want. The Book of Mormon is the word of God, and has many examples in it of how some have loved others even when there were so many excuses discouraging them from doing so. At times I am not as strong as them. But being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, I help others as well as have their help teaching and supporting to do better. Throughout all history we have seen that when the people are righteous they have had God's past word as well as his present word through a Prophet. The Book of Mormon was translated by a prophet of God. Often I think of this and how incredible it is! I think of other mercies the Lord has given. I want to shout to people what I know about the wonderful opportunity of hearing a prophet. When I hear I feel the truth he speaks. The more we recognize what the Lord has done around us we can have his spirit manifest of more truth that He has given. I have seen that the greatest achievements of progress and success in my life only comes after I put aside what I want and through help that can only come from God my heart is changed. It is a constant proccess for me to come back monthly, weekly and when I can...daily to the Lord, for Him to focus my eyes... on true happiness. I know that families are important. I have felt the truth of the Book of Mormon. And cannot describe the changes it has helped me make. Jesus has given us so much. I know much truth and success and feel that even though I can't always shout it, Happiness has grown and grows in me through Christ.

How I live my faith

I love learning, and believe that I can learn something from anyone! Currently I moved from a different state into a new area and so I am trying to get to know everyone that has been coming. Even though I have moved, we are learning the same principles that I was learning where I used to live because it is the same church, just another building of worship. I also try to help others that are new. I am trying to do better at making comments about things that touch me in the scriptures because I have learned that when we do our best to learn from others as well as to share we will gain more.
