Hi I'm Dottie

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I've lived in Colorado now for 25 years. I love to quilt and read books. Books of all genres, although right now fantasy is my favorite genre. I read 3 or 4 books at a time just to keep things interesting. I have 4 boys who call Colorado home, even though only the youngest was actually born here. I was a single mom for 11 years. After divorcing my husband, I went back to school to get a teaching degree. I graduated summa cum laude, while working and raising my boys. I look back on it now 19 years later and wonder how I did it.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born a member of the church. I have always known the church was true as far back as I remember. I became inactive about the time of my divorce, because of the events surrounding it. I lost faith in myself at that time. Even when I was inactive, I still took my boys to church, I still knew the church was true, it was just a very difficult time in my life. After being inactive for several years I knew I needed to come back to full activity. I meet a wonderful man, who was a nonmember, we took the missionary lessons and got married. Now we are sealed in the temple for time and all eternity. I love the gospel, I love being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ. I have prayed to know if the church was true, I have been without the gospel in my life, I never want to be without it today. I makes me who I am . I am a better person becasue of having the gospel in my life.

How I live my faith

I work with the children ages 3-11 in our ward. I love working with these beautiful children of our Heavenly Father. I can think of no better place to be. These kids are such an example of Jesus Christ. I try to be honest with my fellow man in everything I do, everyday. I try to love all those I come in contact with. I serve others as often as I can, in every way I can.
