Hi I'm Jeanne

I'm a book creator, a hobbyist photographer, a Poet, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mom, wife, and from a big family. I'm also a lifelong learner and an aspiring pianist. I love taking classes and learning new things. I always loved hobbies, crafts, and trying to increase my talents but my work seemed to take center stage. I retired after 35 years, only to return to work at a new and exciting job in an entirely different career field that allowed me to use different skills and my love of photography. But most of all, I get to work with and enjoy other people.

Why I am a Mormon

The words of Jesus Christ throughout the scriptures continually touches my heart and strengthens my belief as he calls on me to follow his example. In my heart, I continually feel him guide my life in ways that only the passage of time helps me understand. When I lost my son at 19 years old many years ago, I felt the dark, desperate grief and pain that only our Heavenly Father can heal. I have deep gratitude for his comfort and love for me. I will always love that I can know for myself that Jesus Christ is the Savior of the world by doing these simple things; - pray, ponder, and search the scriptures. Most important to me is that by knowing that His church has been restored on the earth, I can have the continual guidance and peace that I need in a very troubled world. His love surrounds me. I know that I am a daughter of God and I can have faith in his plan for me. And that's why I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I have had so many opportunities to serve my church community and the community in general through church service. One year our ward (congregation) helped Habitat for Humanity by painting a house, and in other years we've done many other community projects, blood drives, city cleanups. I've enjoyed teaching classes for adults, teens, and children. I've camped and canoed down the Niobrara river with the youth and tried to sleep in a tent during downpours. With each adventure comes the opportunity to learn how to serve Heavenly Father's children. Currently I teach the four year olds. We are learning how followers of Jesus Christ had challenges and struggles, but with faith, they were able to use the strength of the Saviors teachings to choose the right path. I cherish the teachings of Jesus Christ. These are all things I have been taught as I try to live my faith; to love and honor my family, loved those I serve, give selflessly, serve gladly.
