Hi I'm Alice

I'm a Mormon. I am a wife and a stay at home mom of four small children.

About Me

I grew up in a small town and after graduating from high school, I moved to a big city and attended college at a major university. It was some of the funnest years of my life. I loved being on a college campus and associating with other college students. Halfway through my college career, I took time off to serve a mission for our church in Japan. It was wonderful to live there for 18 months and I learned to love the Japanese people. I even learned to speak Japanese pretty well! Unfortunately, after years of nonuse, my ability to speak Japanese has waned. After my mission, I graduated from college with a degree in Accounting. I loved working as an accountant. There's something about number crunching that just gives me a thrill! I met and married my husband and three years later, we were blessed with a baby! I quit my job and became a stay at home mom. This is the best job I have ever had! We now are blessed with four children and I am still a stay at home mom. People ask me if I miss working in corporate America. I always anwser, "The only thing I miss is getting a lunch hour and getting off at 5:00!" I wouldn't trade being home with my kids for anything!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it truly makes me happy to follow the teachings of Jesus Christ. I truly believe that this path has brought me more happiness than any other path I could have taken in my life. There are so many choices and options in our world today. But I know that for me there isn't any other way of life that I would rather have. The more you live your religion, the more your faith grows and your knowledge increases. I can honestly say that I know that this is the right path for me. There is no doubt. Heavenly Father has blessed me so abundantly and I am so very grateful for the blessings I have. I have seen the blessings of living the gospel in the lives of my family and especially my children. I wouldn't deny them those blessings for anything.

How I live my faith

I have the privilege of being the leader of the women's organization at church. It is such a blessing to serve these women and get to know them and learn to love them. We have opportunities for service all around us. One of my favorite things to do is visit them in their homes and really get to know them and feel of their sweet spirits. I love visiting moms who have just had babies and offering service. Or people who are ill or have just had a hard trial in their life. I can't do a lot sometimes but just let people know I care. People are experiencing all kinds of things all around us every day and we really never know the true trials they face. When we are just someone's friend or just smile at people, we effect them for good. The wonderful thing is that every time I serve someone, no matter how small, I am happier. And sometimes I am the recipient of someone else's service. What a beautiful thing the gospel is.
