Hi I'm Michelle

I live in Colorado. I love the beautiful outdoors. I love spending time outdoors with my family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a wife and mom to 4 great kids. We love spending time together as a family. In today's hectic world it is really challenging to make time to spend together. My husband and I have found an activity that we both like to do. Run. We have run in 3 marathons, while not at the same pace at least at the same place. We enjoy working toward a common goal and giving each other encouragement. Someday we hope to do a relay with all of our family. Being a mom is all about balance. I feel like I am a circus juggler somedays trying to keep all of my balls up in the air without dropping one. I have found that to be the best mom I can be I have to take time for myself everyday. I work out most of the time, but I also have many hobbies that I have developed over the years: painting, sewing, quilting, scrapbooking, photography, biking, swimming, and running. I find when I take time for myself I am able to focus on my family so much better the rest of the day. I wouldn't change a thing about my crazy, hectic life. I love being a circus juggler!

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member my entire life. I was raised both in the state of Utah and out of Utah. When my husband and I were married we decided we wanted to raise our family outside of Utah. Some of our best friends have not been members of the church. Sometimes it is challenging to our kids because they are invited to birthday parties on Sundays, or they have sports on Sundays. We do our best to teach our kids correct gospel principles so that they know why we do the things we do. The gospel keeps me and my family safe from the many temptations that face us in the world today. I feel so much peace knowing that if I keep Jesus Christs commandments he will give me protection and peace in this life. I have always admired my ancestors who joined the church in England. It must have been very difficult for them to leave their beloved homeland and come to Utah with other converts. I admire them for their courage and conviction to do something that wasn't popular and it wasn't convenient, and sometimes it was dangerous as many of their friends and family died along the way. I don't want to let them down. I want to be as strong in my testimony as they were. I may not be asked to move thousands of miles from my homeland, but I will be courageous in my own way. I know, as my ancestors did, that this is the true and living gospel of Jesus Christ that has been restored to it's fulness as it was during the time that Jesus lived on the earth. God does speak to a living prophet on the earth today. That prophet speaks to us to guide us in these troubled times. My family and my testimony are both very dear to me. I can't imagine what my life would be like if I didn't have them. I want to be with my family for eternity. I know that is possible because of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

Right now I am beginning the most terrifying calling I could have imagined a few months ago. I was called to be a seminary teacher. In this calling I have to go every weekday morning very early to the church to teach youth age 14- 18 about the Old Testament. While I have been blessed with many talents I always felt inadequate in speaking or teaching. Secretly I wished for that gift and now Heavenly Father is helping me to get my wish. I am amazed at the peace that I have felt as I have been preparing for my lessons. I have always been terrified of speaking in front of people. I know that Heavenly Father is giving me help, because I couldn't do it otherwise.
