Hi I'm Sam and I'm a Mormon

I run a car dealership in Arizona. I have 5 children from 22 to 12yrs old. I love my wife, service, food and learning.

About Me

I grew up in San Gabriel Ca. which is near LA. Having grown up around so many different types of people I have developed an appreciation for what makes people unique. For my career, I thought I would do anything besides what I currently do-- Sell cars. Actually, I am the general manager of a large car dealership in Arizona. When I was 19, I served a 2 year Spanish-speaking mission to British Columbia, Canada. When I first got my letter for my mission, my family thought I was joking!!! I still use my 2nd language everyday, because I have a couple of employees whose primary language is spanish. In addition to that my wife is a native of Mexico, now US citizen. I have 2 children from my 1st marriage (a girl 22, married and a boy 16) and I married into 3 great children( two boys 16 and 17 and a girl,12). We have overcome many obstacles to become a very close family. For interests I love sports, travelling, food, and helping others. In LA I grew up a True Blue Dodger and Laker fan. Born in Oregon, I have lived in LA, Salt Lake City, Canada, Orange County, and now Phoenix. l have been blessed to associate with a diverse group of people in my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up a Mormon. I served a Mission and graduated from BYU. Sounds like the perfect Mormon. But after college, in the "real world" I experienced some big ups and downs. There were points were I made bad choices and I was miserable. I had to repent and learn for myself about the reality of the atonement and my Savior. I had, at one low point in my life, had my faith seriously tested. I had to be completely honest with myself. I knew in my heart and mind that the Book of Mormon was true and all of the other principles the church taught were true and correct (we call that a testimony). I prayed an honest prayer from the heart, with every ounce of spiritual effort, and asked for faith and hope and most of all, help. My heart burned in me like I had never felt before. My conviction and testimony then, has led to a long conversion process and what is today an unwavering testimony of all of the principles in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

How I live my faith

I love the gospel of Jesus Christ. He over came death for me. He suffered for my sins in the Garden of Gethsemane, so that if I will repent I will be forgiven for my sins, overcoming spiritual death. Also, He rose on the third day, taking His physical body from the grave, overcoming death for all men. I have changed the little things I do to make sure I stay close to my Father in Heaven. I pray more regularly. The first thing I do in the morning is pray. I never leave my home without reading from the scriptures--especially the Book of Mormon. I work with the Young Men ages 16-18 in all of their Scouting and church activities. I have found the Atonement is real. Not just when this life is over, but is available on a daily basis. I also work with those people who have addictions (to alcohol, drugs, gambling, food, etc.) and are trying to overcome them. The Church has an Addiction Recovery Program based on a 12 step program that is centered on Jesus Christ. I love working with people who have problems and want to do better and be happy. I love my family, I have had the opportunity to be sealed to my wife and all of my children in the temple. I have had the Holy Ghost witness to me the truthfulness of the things contained within the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I practice these principles in my family and business life. Honesty and Integrity throughout my personal and career life has brought me tremendous success on many levels. Faith, Hope, and Charity are true principles that when adopted in every area of your life, bring the blessings of heaven. I have found that the fulness of Jesus Christs gospel is found in this church. The peace of mind I receive as a result of this knowledge means I can be truly happy, whether at church or at a basketball game or at a business meeting halfway across the globe. Happiness is available to me or anyone who truly wants it.
