Hi I'm Diana Frost Fergus

I'm a Mormon. I grew up in a small Mormon community where the teachings of the church was share by all.

About Me

I graduated from a small high school, attended a small junior college before attending a huge university - I felt like a fish out of water to only be a number! I taught school for several years while starting my family. My family moved around teaching in different localities before we settled down and went into business for ourselves. I was active in the community through the Boy Scouts of America where I worked my way from a den leader to a district leader in the course of 25 years. I enjoy spending time with my children and grandchildren even though they all live a day's drive away.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in a Mormon family but there comes a time in your life that one must decide whether this is what you want to be or do for yourself. I love reading the Book of Mormon and feel the spirit warm my soul letting me know that what I am reading is true. Attending church and participating in the many activities help me share my feelings with others. I choose to be a Mormon because I know that Jesus is my Savior and is there for me when I need him.

How I live my faith

I work with the women's organization and visit the many sisters on our role. I go with another sister (member of the church) to visit for birthdays, welcome to the ward (local church), hospitial visits, home visits for illness, and other reasons. I attend other meetings where the women are taught how to be better homemakers, mothers, and wives as we learn to budget, care for our families, cook from our supplies, make healthy homemade meals, can foods which were grown, purchsed when on sale, or family favorites or other activities as the leaders see a need or interest. I work with those planning these activities and help implement the plans. I attend the local temple weekly with a group of cousins who live in the area.

What is being a Mormon like?

Diana Frost Fergus
As a Mormon I do not feel that I am "different" than those around me. Through the knowledge and understanding gained through scripture study and church attendance, I have gained insight in what is good for myself through nutritional choices, social activities, family structure, and continuing the spiritual study that will help me understand what God wants me to do and to be. I am a free agent and can choose to live according to the Church's health and social standards. I choose to be selective in my reading and movie venues to stay away from pornographic materials or suggestive ideas that would draw me away from the closeness I feel when praying, attending church meetings and activities.
