Hi I'm Dana

I love art, travel, and dancing to 80's rock. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in California mostly raised by my grandmother. Traveled around North and South America working on ethnographic research and photography. I love indie films and documentaries.

Why I am a Mormon

The LDS church has always had some type of presence in my life. Either through a friend, classmate, random conversation with a stranger, or simply noticing something "different" about someone. I remember meeting an LDS family when I was about 16 years old and noticing how at peace I felt as I talked to this family. I told myself "I'll probably be Mormon one day" and just walked away never really thinking much about it. As I got older and started studying the religions of the world I began to question my own faith and relationship with the Lord. I began to read the Book of Mormon and started feeling a warm peaceful feeling similar to feelings I had felt with the LDS I had met 9 years earlier. It was the most calm, gentle, benevolent, filled emotional moment of my life. I knew at that moment that there was a Lord out there and that He had been waiting for me to find Him.

How I live my faith

As I started to study the scriptures I found that there was so much information out there I had never heard before. The more I read, the more I asked questions, and the stronger my faith grew. One of the most helpful things I experience in the church was being able to visit other females to discuss and learn from each other. It's so nice to be able to share the information I've learned and see the happiness that can come from teaching.
