Hi I'm Trent

I love longboarding, adventuring, and everything else! I'm Mormon!

About Me

My name is Trent. I'm 21 years old and I enjoy life. Some of my favorite things to do include backpacking, longboarding, and rock climbing. I'm happy with life and I love to have fun. I'm a pretty open minded person and I enjoy being with people, listening to music and the exploring the scenery of this earth. I'd rather be outside. I believe that diversity is a great blessing and I will someday travel the world and learn about all kinds of people. People are cool and I strongly believe that we are here to uplift and encourage one another, and by so doing, we can make the world an even better place than it already is. I make a lot of mistakes and I am constantly learning. I try my best to live a good life and love the people around me.

Why I am a Mormon

This church goes far beyond just religion. I was born into the Church of Jesus Christ but I didn't always live it. There was a time in my life when I understood spirituality differently and I didn't believe that organized religion was necessary. I grew up in a split family with a very strong mother but a struggling father. It was hard to find peace in my home life so I looked elsewhere for my happiness. I studied some world religions until I realized that I still didn't feel right about my life. At that point I gave up on religion and focused more on trying to be a good person and understanding human nature. During this time of confusion, I realized that I had no foundation for my life. With no foundation, I had nothing to build upon and grow. As I pondered on life and tried to find direction, I remembered learning about prayer and how Heavenly Father loves us and will answer our prayers. I resolved that I needed to ask God what to do and so I did. After doing so, I felt strongly that I needed to read from the Book of Mormon which I hadn't done for a long time. This was the most life changing experience for me up to this point. After reading the book and praying to ask if it was true, the answer came so clearly that it was true, and that I've known it was true for a long time. I believe that every prayer answered should be followed by action so I immediately started on my journey back to full activity in the Church. I have never before felt happier than I do now. I know without a doubt that by following the example of our Savior, Jesus Christ, we can reach our full potential here in this life and return to live with our Heavenly Father eternally in the life to come. The Church is true.

How I live my faith

The only way to have faith is to live it. Everything I do is because of what I believe and everything I believe comes from God. I have served in several callings in the church including a coordinator for the institute of religion and a full time missionary, where I have had the opportunity to share this wonderful message with as many as would hear it. I look forward to attending church every Sunday to see other members and socialize and learn more about this gospel. I believe in being a good example to others so the most important way I live my faith is by what I do every day.

What do Mormons believe about family?

The family is the most important unit in the Church. Everything that the Gospel of Jesus Christ teaches will bless the family. Our families are one of the greatest gifts that God has given us and everything we do in the Church should be for the good of the family. We believe that families can be together forever, even after this life is over. I am so grateful for families and I know that by living and following the teachings of Jesus Christ, I can enjoy the blessings of a strong family. Everything I learned as a youth in the church has prepared me to one day be a loving husband and father and I am so grateful to have this gospel as a foundation to build my family upon.
