Hi I'm Crystal

I'm a happy wife and a blessed mommy. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a wife to a wonderful husband and a full time mommy to my adorable 16 month old son. We all enjoy sunny days at the park, eating fresh fruit, sharing fun experiences with friends, dancing, and shopping for treasures at thrift stores. It is my hope to raise a big, happy family and I know that the gospel can help me do just that. Our Savior has brought only happiness and unity to this world, so as we look to him and keep his commandments, we as a family feel happy and unified.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because I have personally witnessed the truth through the power of the Holy Ghost. I was born into a family who believed in the church and they were all good examples to me. I always went to church and we had scripture study and prayer together. It felt good to be with my family and witness how happy people were who had the gospel in their lives. By the age of thirteen, I had heard many times in church that it was important that we read the Book of Mormon and pray daily. I began to recognize that I needed to know for myself if this church was true and I took on the challenge. As I began to read and pray, something amazing happened. It wasn't just a book any more, it was a journal recorded by prophets who actually did what they had said they had done and had actually witnessed what they said they had witnessed. Each day I'd come home from school and excitedly read the Book of Mormon for the first time in my life just for me and my understanding. The spirit strongly testified of the books truthfulness each day as I was diligent and sincere. I felt such peace, warmth, and joy. I began to feel sad when Satan had more power over the people and so happy when I saw that the people were blessed from God for doing what was right. I also felt love for everyone around me and felt a lot less tempted to sin because it was so clear how wrong it was. I knew that the Book of Mormon was true from that point on. In prayer, I'd talk to my loving Heavenly Father each day with a meaningful and sincere conversation and gained such a strong and sure relationship with him that I knew from that point on that he does exist and that he does love me and all his children dearly. That was the start of my testimony and it has grown so much since than. As I continue to read, pray, go to church, and keep God's commandments, I continue to receive confirmations through the spirit of the truthfulness of the gospel.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by having daily scripture study and prayer, personally and with my family. I have a Family Home Evening each Monday night where my family and I sing hymns, pray, build our faith through a prepared lesson, and have tasty treats. My husband and I attend the temple. I attend church each Sunday and I get to serve by teaching the 9 year olds about the good news, our Savior. It is so rewarding helping them to gain their own testimonies. You really do come to love those that you serve. I get to visit a lady in my ward once a month to see how she's doing, share a gospel message with her, and serve her. I've really enjoyed making friends with her and being able to confide in her as well as her in me.
