Hi I'm Bill

I grew up in the coal fields of Eastern Kentucky and was a Coal Miner for 30 years. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a father of three boys and a grandfather of three girls. My younger son is currently serving a mission in Utah. I have been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for a little over Five years.

Why I am a Mormon

My wife has been a member of the church all her life, so I was exposed to the teachings and beliefs of the mormon religion. I started attending church with her and our youngest son. I liked the people, they were friendly and treated my just like any other member of the church. When I would have questions about the church she would answer them. One Sunday we were going to church (a fast and testimony meeting) and she ask me if I would like to talk to the missionaries and I told her no, that I was fine and not to put pressure on me to join the church. When the meeting started I could feel something different, it was like those that were bearing their testimony were talking to or about me. I started crying and couldn't stop. The meeting went on for about one and a half hours, the bishop finally had to stop the meeting, I knew that the church was true and that I wanted to be a member. I ask to be baptized that day, but was told I would need to take the missioary discussion. I was baptized the next Saturday and have not regretted a day of making the decision to join the church.

How I live my faith

I live my Faith by keeping the Commitments, Commandments and Covenants I have made. I magifying the callings I have received in church. I love doing church service projects such as working in the church cannery, doing service for the community, doing service for families in need, doing service for members.
