Hi I'm Janae

I have the privilege of being a stay at home mom of five, and being married to my best friend. I'm a Mormon. Oh, and I'm a twin...

About Me

One of the first things I tell people is that I am a twin because this fact seems to really cause confusion. I have way too many stories to tell of others thinking I am not very friendly, or that I changed my clothes for some unknown reason...or that I have a new baby. Etc. So, if you see someone who looks like me, just know that it may not be! I love my family. My two older children just got married within 3 weeks of each other! We are so happy to embrace more children into our family circle. I love hiking and all of God's creations such as beautiful flowers, gorgeous sunsets, waterfalls and majestic mountains. My favorite animal is the Elk. I love the sound of its bugle in the fall. Whenever I see these things, it confirms to me that there is a God and that He is there for me. I LOVE to create books on-line. I have spent many of hours scanning old photos and creating photo books about my grandparents, parents, missions, children and other family events. It is my way of preserving my heritage and leaving a legacy for my children.

Why I am a Mormon

I cannot remember a time that I did not have a testimony of Jesus Christ and his gospel. My first recollection of feeling the spirit and gaining my own testimony is when I was just 3 years old. My primary class was held in the basement of a really old church. It had those old external heaters that made funny noises and I was scared. The teacher had the class sing a song “The Still Small Voice.” I felt the spirit and was comforted. I have had many experiences over the years that have taught me that God hears and answers my prayers and have confirmed to me that His church has been restored on the earth. Being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints brings me a lot of happiness. I love knowing that we have a prophet on the earth to guide us. I love to read the Book of Mormon and know that it is true. I am thankful that we have families and that we can live together forever by being sealed in the Lord’s Holy temple.

How I live my faith

By small and simple things are great things brought to pass. (Alma 37:6) I do small and simple things every day to live my faith. Keeping the commandments, serving others, repenting of my sins and weaknesses, forgiving others, praying and reading my scriptures are some of those simple things that help me become closer to my Heavenly Father. Currently, I am teaching gospel doctrine to adults in Sunday school. This is a challenge for me, but with a lot of prayer and preparation, the class helps me learn. Prior to this, I have served with the children in different capacities for over seventeen years. I love working with them! Their simple faith and testimonies increase my faith.
