Hi I'm Stephanie

I'm a Disney freak with an undecided major, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a small city in Arizona with five sisters and a little brother. This church has always been a part of my life, even when I didn't want it to be. But I'm glad it held on to me because there are so many dark alleys I could be down right now if I didn't have that shining light over me. I love the guidance that the Holy Spirit gives me through the desicions I make because this life is confusing, but I always have that constant companion with me. I also love that my family and friends are there for me, helping to lift me up, and share their testimonies and experiences with me.

Why I am a Mormon

Love. That is the one word that I think describes the church perfectly. Not a day goes by when I don't feel the love from someone around me. But to really get into it: When I was fourteen there seemed to be a lot of focus on Joseph Smith. I knew the story by heart, but I never really thought about whether it could be true or not. I finally decided to actually read the Book of Mormon. I found it to be the best book I had ever read, and therefore knew that it had to be from God. So, if it had come from God, through Joseph Smith, then he had to be a real prophet of God. I had always loved the prophet Gordon B. Hinkley because he just had this happiness about him that I couldn't hate. I also came to love President Thomas S. Monson in the same way. My ability to know that there is a prophet of God on this earth today has changed my life fo the best. My testimony of my Savior came recently actually. I wasn't sure I could gain a knowledge of his sacrifice because I had never strayed too far off the path. Well, life brings trials and I found that the right decision wasn't always the easiest to make. I found my testimony of my Savior through my own bad decisions, but as long as they got me to where I am now, I would never trade my experiences for the world. The love I felt from those around me who were there to help, and from my Heavenly Brother, were very much the reason I was able to make it through. Life is full of ups and downs, but Christ knows exactly where we've been and the trouble we've seen. He will carry us through when we feel that all our strength is gone and we'll never make it out.

How I live my faith

I love reading my scriptures and talking to my Heavenly Father through prayer, and the calling I have received has really lifted me to a new high. I have found that what I really want to do with my life is follow Christ and the example he set for me so I can make it back to my Heavenly Father. The best way I have found to do this is by serving a mission for him. I know I don't have to, but what kind of follower would I be if I didn't? His work is to bring salvation to men, and I can help that work along by doing my own part. Plus, the knowledge I learn will help me through the trials that will come my way through life. Plus, through my experiences, I will be able to help those around me. I can build the kingdom with my faith and help others to feel of the love that he has to share with us all. Church is definitely the best part of my life and I can't imagine life without it.
