Hi I'm Roger

I'm a Mormon. I grew up in a small farming community in Idaho. I currently live in Colorado with my wife of 36 years.

About Me

I am the proud father of 8 children and 10 grand children. My wife of 35 years and I enjoy spending time with them and love to watch them grow and learn. I have a real love for football as do my 4 sons who all played competitively at the high school and college levels. I coached football for many years during their early years and enjoyed it very much. I enjoy golfing although I don't get out as much as I would like. I love to travel. During my career in Corporate America I had the opportunity to work/visit Austria, England, Belgium, France, Spain, Italy, India, the Philippines, Australia, Mexico, Costa Rica and grew to appreciate their cultures. I am currently serving as a welfare missionary for the Church helping those who are struggling in this difficult economy. I find this very rewarding and have developed a strong testimony of the inspired Welfare Program of our Church enabling us to help those in need, member and non-member a like.

Why I am a Mormon

I cannot imagine my life without the Gospel and my membership in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I have found that when I am living the Gospel principles my life just seems to run smoother. That doesn't mean that I have been immune from problems or many challenging situations. I have experienced periods of unemployment, family problems, etc. just like everyone else. As I look back on my struggles I can see the hand of the Lord gently helping me through the rough times. I know that Jesus Christ is our Savior, he died for us and paid the utmost for our sins because of his great love for us. I know that I am literally a son of God and, as such, have eternal promises of living with him if I keep his commandments and do all that is required to return to him. I have a personal Testimony of Joseph Smith and the restoration of the Gospel in these Latter Days as spoken of in the Bible. I know that we have a Prophet on the earth, even Thomas S. Monson who leads the Lords Church and directs the Lords work today. He is assisted by 12 Apostles who are called of God as were the early Apostles who walked the earth with Christ.

How I live my faith

Over the years I have actively participated in service through many different callings in the Church. I have been involved with the youth (scouting and young adults), Sunday School teacher, visited the sick and visited those in the area to extend a hand of friendship and help. I have been active in local government affairs in representing the desires of the community and acting as a voice for the people. I serve as a Welfare Missionary for the Church to help those less fortunate who have illnesses that prevent them from being able to support themselves or have fallen on hard times during this difficult economy.
