Hi I'm Gary

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a father of 9 and am in the automotive business. I am also a Grandfather of 7 so far. I am an adoptive father of 3 daughters from Russia. My ancestors came from Assyria before it became Iran. My Grandmother was born in Tehran. My ancestors migrated to America in 1910. Although my mother was born in America, she is fluent in the Assyrian language that is very much like the language that Christ spoke. I grew up attending churches where the sermon was given in the Assyrian language.

Why I am a Mormon

Although I was raised in a Christian faith, I never had much interest in religion. The things I was taught did not make sense to me and in my heart they did not seem right. In my late teens I met someone who became a dear friend. Through this friend I was introduced to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. In the beginning I had very little interest as I had been told things about the LDS church that caused me to have no interest in learning more but as time went on I was able to discover that the things I had been told were not accurate and that the LDS church and it's people were not at all what I had been lead to believe that they were. I found the members of the church, for the most, part to be good, honest people who love the Savior and truly believe in following Him. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that the teachings of the LDS church touched my heart in a way that I had never experienced before. For the first time in my life I was able to be taught things that I instantly knew to be true. I joined the LDS church when I was 18 years old and have received great blessings from that important and wonderful decision. My life is blessed each and every day by my membership in the LDS church. Next to my wonderful family it is the greatest blessing in my life.

How I live my faith

For me, being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is not just being a member of a church but it is also a whole way of life. The church has taught me ways to live that will bring me happiness in spite of the challenges that life has to offer. I know that making good choices has blessed me and my family and I am so grateful for the knowledge of those things that will bless my life. Since I joined the church I have had opportunities to serve as a leader and teacher of both youth and adults. I have never been without a job to do in the church and my life has been greatly blessed and rewarded because of that. My wife and I have opened our home to people in need and have shared our testimonies and our abundance with others. I have benefited so greatly from the example and friendship of others and have been able to be united with my family and others in serving in the church.
