Why I am a Mormon

I have always been a model citizen-- Yea right. This religion focus is on the life and teachings of Jesus Christ. The religion asked the membership to follow our lord and Savior. This religion teaches about repentance so that I could square myself with my God and my comunity. I believe I have a Father in Heaven. I feel his love when I am troubled or when I need some help. I don't think my Father would put me on earth and leave me alone to exist on this earth with no promptings or guidelines. There is a man on earth who speaks for God. He guides and directs the affairs of this church, he is a Prophet. He tells me of my Father in heavens plans and programs to help me return to him and live with him when I die. I strugle with some action of society when it says what is just and true. The words of Christ and the guidance of the prophet help keep out deluting process of rationalization. I really like that. I only feel encouragement and love from the leaders of this church. When I feel guilt that is me kicking myself around. But that is OK, cuz I kick me alot harder than any leader would. I have tested this religion against many others. The things that matter the most to me are understood and are taught to me here in this religion. I see the consistancy of truth and clarity. That is why I am a morman, I haven't even talked about my blessings or spiritual rewards, which are many.

How I live my faith

I have served a mission to Chlie. I have been a Scoutmaster and have worked at the district level to train other in scouting.I have been a Varsity Coach, Explorer post advisor, a young Mens president, a Bishop, High Council member, the husband of a Relief Society president, and a home teacher. I have donated many hours and resources to the childern of Gilbert High athletic programs. Some times I feel like a onion with many layers of defense shields against society. These layers harden and effect my thinking and response to my family and nieghbors. I go to church weekly to soften the inter me and help me make my responses to others in a more loving way. More Christ like manor and verble responses is what Iam striving for. This church is full of friends just like me, we learn to serve together. I take every opportunity to teach my children married or not and my grandchildren what I have learned. As a father I love personal individual interviews with my family. I have found that Scripture Study time and Famly Home Evenings are both great forums for instructionand fun.
