Hi I'm Tessie

I am a mother of 4 beautiful children. I love to create, decorate, and perform. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mother of four beautiful children and have been married to my sweetheart for 13 years. My husband is in the Air Force and we have lived in Minnesota, Mississippi, Maryland, England and now Nebraska. I grew up always singing, dancing, acting and performing. I often sing at church and hope to start doing community theatre now that my children are getting older. I am a stay at home mom and I absolutely love it. I love creating beautiful spaces in my home and I love being able to be so involved in my children's live. I love to sew, decorate, craft, perform and meet new people.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in Utah and had many friends that were members of the church. I was always drawn to their cheerful attitudes and their desire to make good choices. During my senior year of high school I started wondering about some of the big life questions. Is there a God? What happens after I die? What is my purpose here on earth? I felt like perhaps there was more and I wanted to learn more about the church. The summer after I graduated from High School I was home alone when I heard a knock on my door. It was two mormon missionaries and my first thought was "Oh no... missionaries" I decided to open the door and talk with them since I had so many friends that would soon be going on missions. The missionaries were so kind and I felt so happy talking to them that I decided to let them come back and teach me more about the church. They came back and told me the story of Joseph Smith and taught me about how our prayers are answered through feelings of love, peace and comfort. I prayed to know if the story of Joseph Smith was true and I felt the most overwhelming feelings of joy, peace and love that I had ever felt in my life! I was baptized about one month later and it has been the best decision of my life. Every day I am thankful for the path that I chose. Being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints has brought so much peace and happiness into my life. It has given me clear and constant direction in raising my children and truly has taught me how to be content and thankful for my many blessings.

How I live my faith

My home life and church life are completely intertwined. In our home we talk about Christ, we read the scriptures together as a family every day and have family night lessons once a week. On Sundays we attend our church meetings and enjoy worshiping with our church family. I have had the honor of working with the young women of our church ages 12 to 14. I have organized church camps, spiritual activities and youth trips. I have also had the opportunity of working with the younger children ages 3-12. Some of my favorite church memories are of teaching primary songs to the young children. Their voices are just like angels as they sing about Jesus and trying to make good choices.
