Hi I'm Sandy

I am married to my best friend. We live in a 27ft travel trailer, and go wherever the Lord wants us to go. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love sunshine!! When my husband and I go on picnics we set the blanket half in the sun and half in the shade. We are so different, but have learned to love and accomodate for those differences. We have been married 7 years. Our kids are Smores, an 8 year old basset hound, and Poo, a 7 year old blind mutt. For almost half of our marriage we have lived in a travel trailer enjoying a mobile life. I feel the Lord has blessed us with this unusual lifestyle, and I am so grateful for all I have learned because of it. I have had the opportunity to experience various work environments. From reserve firefighting and flight attending to kentucy fried chicken delivery. In all of my adventures I have come to understand that no matter where we are, the Lord can teach us if we just listen.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised LDS, but fell in love with a man who was enjoying some addictive things of the world. In time, to my surprise, he chose to come to church with me. As we stood in the hallway after Sunday School, he mentioned, "I have a lot to learn." Those faithful missionaries heard him and within days they were teaching him of Christ. During one lesson he began to squirm, it wasn't until later that he expressed his concern. "The a/c was on, the ceiling fan was on, but I just felt warm." As my husband continued to feel the warmth of the Spirit and the truth of the words of Christ, his addictions melted. He was baptized and I witnessed the true meaning of being born again. He became a new man. Alive in Christ. I am so grateful for the experiences in my life that have illustrated the reality of Christ's role in our lives. I know He lives. I know He advocates in our behalf and desires for us to reach our potential. I know we can come to know Him through the study of His words. I am so grateful to have the Book of Mormon as another testament of His sacrifice for us. I know that my husband is stuck with me for eternity. And I thank the Lord for it.

How I live my faith

I get to teach 14-18 year olds every morning before school. I am as Enoch, slow of speech and not the most popular in the social realm, but I have felt the Lord's strength and His love for the youth. We are studying the Old Testament this year and have already uncovered many truths that can be applied to their young lives. What a blessing it is to study God's words with such powerful young people so early in the morning! My husband and I teach 4-5 year olds on Sunday mornings. Their energy and simple understanding is refreshing! We play games and sing songs that teach sweet truths. As they learn, Jon and I are reminded of the simplicity of Heavenly Father's Plan for us. Most of all, I just try my best to live as Christ did. And when I fail, I trust in His promise. I let go of my mistakes of yesterday, and press forward with hope for tomorrow.
