Hi I'm Wai

I'm a very active person. I love playing sports and love playing around with my nieces and nephews. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am 22 years old and serving a full time mission in the Houston Texas mission preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ in American Sign Language. I played football and won 2 state championships. Volleyball comes in a very close second to football. I love to exercise, which is good because I love to eat as well! haha, I have a pretty big family and love to hang out with them and just be around them. I enjoy the company of my friend and enjoy making new friends. I'm shy at first but people say I'm pretty easy to talk to. haha. Before my mission, and after my mission, I will be majoring in Deaf Studies and interpreting for the Deaf.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know this church is true. I know that our Heavenly Father has a plan for us. I know our Lord, Redeemer and Savior, Jesus Christ suffered more pain than I will be able to understand for not only me but for the rest of the humanity. I know that through Jesus Christ I can and will be forgive, if I humble myself and ask for forgiveness. I know that Joseph Smith was given all the correct priesthood and priesthood keys to allow us to enter the highest level of the celestial kingdom. I can feel in my heart, this is the one and only true church.

How I live my faith

I live my Faith by serving others. Right now I'm lucky to be serving a full time mission. I can spread my beliefs to the wonderful people of Houston Texas. I love to help anyone when I can. By serving a mission I am able to do so 24/7 for 2 years.

What is a “testimony” that Mormons speak of?

A "testimony" that we speak of is just like any other testimony. If you were to take a diet pill or do a work out program and it worked, wouldn't you tell your friends about it? A testimony is your own personal witness that something is true, that it works. You gain that testimony by experiencing it yourself. Then you know, or in other words you, have the knowledge that whatever diet pill or work out plan works. Now to relate it back to the church, it is a our own person proclamation that we have that Our Heavenly Father lives and loves us. He sent his Only Begotten Son, Jesus Christ, to fulfill an infinite Atonement for everyone that lived upon the earth since its beginning. That Joseph Smith is truly a prophet called of God and has brought forth a book that is the word of God, the Book of Mormon. Lastly that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the one and only true church upon the earth today. Now how do you gain a testimony for yourself? How do you "experience that it works"? You read the book, and pray with a sincere heart (real desire in our hearts) and real intent (the willingness to actually act on your answer), and ask our Heavenly Father if its true. He will answer that prayer. Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe about family?

The family is the basic unit of society. We learn from each other. We exeperience the good and bad things together. Our parents are there to teach us how we should live our lives to be able to become like our Heavenly Father. We believe that families can be together forever. Yes forever as in after we die. If and only if everyone in the family accepts the gospel of Jesus Christ, follow his commandments and we perform certain ordinances, a way of showing our Heaven Father we accecpt certain things (example baptism), in the temple as in being sealed together.
