Hi I'm Dan

I'm a firefighter, IT consultant, Realtor, scout leader, football coach, father of nine children, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hi I'm Dan. I work as a firefighter for a local city. On the side I continue a IT consulting business and a real estate brokerage. Having a large family (nine children) requires some hard work and dedication. After the work day ends I am happy to volunteer my time to my church, the local scout troop and to my children's sports teams. To me having a large family has been such a joy and a blessing in life even if it takes a lot of work. The Lord has blessed my wife and I with a major undertaking here at home. It is one that we are happy to be responsible for. We enjoy spending time together as a family.

Why I am a Mormon

My mother joined the church shortly before she was married to my father. She continued to be faithful and brought us to church with her as often as time permitted. When I was eight years old I took the missionary discussions from the missionaries and decided to be baptized and become a member of the church. My faith continued to grow from that time forward and I was faithful in my church attendance. My father eventually showed an interest in the church and was baptized when I was seventeen. He supported me as I decided to serve a mission for the church in Germany. It was during this time that I began to really understand how the Spirit had been working in me my whole life. Heavenly Father had often poured His Spirit out to me to tell me that what I had been learning about was true. I believe this Church to be the Lord's Kingdom on the earth.

How I live my faith

My wife and bring out family to church every week. It is a struggle at times getting everyone ready to go on an early Sunday morning. One child might complain, another one can't seem to find their shoes, for another there is no cereal left in the box, for another they can't find anything to wear. When we finally make it there we struggle as we try to teach our little ones the importance of being reverant in church. It is easy to wonder what we do it for. Deep down we feel that we are doing God's work. At the end of the day we find peace bringing the gospel into our home. I work with the local boy scout troop every week. My wife enjoys teaching a class once a month designed especially for women. I also have two families that I visit with every month. We try to read the scriptures with our children and prayer every day in our home that we will be worthy to have the Spirit with us. We rely on the Yoke of Christ daily in our lives and look forward to the eternities. Think eternally, live daily is sort of a motto for us.
