Hi I'm Mercedes

and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a 25 year old Mormon living in beer loving Wisconsin. I graduated from Brigham Young University 2 years ago with a degree in Elementary Education. After realizing I don't want to teach elementary school, I moved to Madison to try and figure out what I wanted to do! After 2 years in Madison and much internal struggle, I finally decided to serve a mission. Despite all of my fears and doubts (about MY abilities), I finally gave into the spirit and filled out my paperwork. It is funny how the Lord works, because this has been a long time coming. I am quickly realizing that my life is being guided by HIS timeline, not mine. Now here I am! Looking forward to the next 18 months in the Redlands California mission. Onto the next adventure!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Ever since I was little I knew there was something special about this church and what was taught/ believed. I started to gain a testimony of my own during my teenage years and have continued to nurture it ever since. Life is not perfect, fair, or easy but with the fullness of the gospel of Jesus Christ I have been able to live a fulfilling and uplifting life. I know that Joseph Smith is a true prophet of God and was chosen to bring the truth forward. Everything about our beliefs makes sense in my mind and answer the many questions that people ask each and every day. Why are we here? Where are we going? What is the purpose of my life?" I have felt in my heart and soul that we are here for a specific purpose. Each and every one of us is a son or daughter of God and we have the privileged to live each day on this earth as examples of our Father in Heaven. I know that Jesus Christ lives. He died and was resurrected so that we might be able to return to him and our Father in Heaven. Because of him we can repent of our sins and try each and every day to be better. I love my Savior and my God. I testify that this is the true gospel of Jesus Christ and he loves each and every one of us.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith by participating in church callings and activities. I try to live each day by being an example of Jesus Christ and praying for opportunities to serve others. I live my faith by following the teachings of Jesus as well as what the prophets have taught and revealed to us. My main goal in life is to love as Christ loved and to be the very best example of him that I can.
