Hi I'm Barry

I'm happy to be a Mormon.

About Me

I was born to loving parents who sacrificed much for me and my three brothers and three sisters. We had a great life at home which prepared each of us to approach life's challenges. My parents were very instrumental in providing me a great foundation in all things physical and spiritual. I was also blessed to have tremendous friends who helped me through the good and bad times growing up. I served a mission in the Italy South Rome mission, which was one of the greatest experiences of my life. It was there that I saw the great blessings of the gospel as people gained a testimony of our Father and His Son. The changes that discipleship make in a person's life are amazing. I married my wife shortly before college graduation and our first two kids were born while in graduate school. The next two followed as we established a career in the pharmaceutical and, later, the computer industry. All four of our children are married and we have twelve wonderful grandchildren. The outdoors is one of my passions; the beauty of nature overwhelms me and the peace associated with being outdoors is a great gift.

Why I am a Mormon

It was during my teen years that I began to realize that I had a testimony of Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. There have been many, many experiences when I have felt them through the Holy Ghost. They have been there to guide and direct my life and brought me much peace and happiness. It would be hard for me to imagine how I would deal with the trials of this life without their influence and assistance. I have a strong testimony of the blessings associated with being a disciple of Jesus Christ. He is the authour of peace and the provider of strength. Some of my best experiences have been witnessing His actions as He has blessed members of my family and my friends. It is comforting to know that He is actively involved in our lives and blessing us as we show our love for Him.

How I live my faith

Church service has been a focus of my life since my teenage years. Our Savior uses us to accomplish His work, and I have been blessed to work with the youth of the church throughout my adult life. It is very rewarding to watch young men and women as they learn life's lessons and experience how the Lord influences our lives. Teaching them the gospel and participating with them in service projects, sports, social activities, and fulfilling their church responsibilities has been very rewarding.
