Hi I'm Karen

I am a Mom, a Grandma, a Realtor, an Office Manager and I am a 5th generation Mormon.

About Me

I am the mother of 4 grown children and the grandmother of 9 and counting. I am a Realtor and I work as an Office Manager for a non-profit organization. I also do bookkeeping for another company. I like to read, I LOVE Sudoku puzzles and I enjoy watching HGTV - especially House Hunters. My favorite thing of all, however, is spending time with my family. I love the ocean - not necessarily being in the ocean, but sitting on the beach, watching the waves, smelling all the smells of the ocean and enjoying the sounds. I also love the mountains and enjoy listening to the wind go through the pine trees, seeing wildlife and all of the stars in the sky. Christmas is my favorite holiday, but my favorite time of year is fall. LIfe is good and I count my blessings each day.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. However, being born into the church doesn't automatically mean you are going to make the right choices. I had to choose for myself whether I was going to follow the teachings of the church. At any time in my life, I could have chosen another path, but I have found great happiness in living the gospel and making good choices. Life can be difficult and everybody has their challenges. Even with all the turmoil in the world, I know I can always feel peace when I am living a Christ-like life and following the commandments. I am a Mormon because I want to be one!

How I live my faith

One of the greatest blessings in the church is having the opportunity to serve in different capacities. For a time, I led a group of 140 women, another time I taught 20 teenagers an early morning scripture based class before they went to school. Right now, I have the great honor of teaching a group of 5 year olds at church. It is a great opportunity to serve in different capacities and experience growth and learning in different areas. I think it's brilliant that everybody is involved in moving the church forward in different areas and being able to take various roles in doing this.

What is being a Mormon like?

Karen
Some people might think that being a Mormon has too many restrictions, but I look at it in a very different way. I'm thankful for the healthy lifestyle that the gospel teachings promote. I'm thankful for the focus on eternal families and for the opportunity I will have to live with my family forever. I'm thankful for the peace the gospel brings into my life. Show more Show less
