Hi I'm Nancy

I am the oldest of eight kids. I like exercising, reading, gardening, and being a mom to four boys. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a stay at home mom - but it seems that I hardly stay at home. With errands and driving my kids around, I wonder when do I get to live the life of watching tv and eating bon bons all day? Truly I am grateful I don't have this kind of life. I run a lot and swim once in a while for exercise. I really like to read and would be forever stuck in the 1800s if I wasn't in a book club that "made" me read other books. I have a Bachelors in Elementary Education. I taught for 4 years and then stayed home when the kids started coming. Eventually I would like to get a Masters degree. But all in good time. I enjoy gardening - both vegetable and flowers. It's nice to see results of hard work in a short period of time. I am happily married and glad my kids are old enough to help me clean our perpetually disarrayed home.

Why I am a Mormon

At first I was Mormon because my parents were Mormon. But at the age of 16, I took the challenge of the Book of Mormon. I read the book, thought about it and prayed. The Holy Ghost, with no ifs, ands, or buts let me know that this book was true. What a strong, warm, happy feeling I received confirming this gospel! I have not forgotten that feeling. I can't. Since then, I have tried my imperfect human best to follow this gospel. The blessings that have followed are innumerable. The trials I have had have only made me stronger. How can I not be grateful for this gospel and how it has made me the person I am?

How I live my faith

I have had various callings in the church. My favorite callings have to do with teaching. Right now I teach the women once a month. As a family, we try and have scripture reading every day. We also have family nights where we share the gospel with each other, play games, and have fun. Family is very important, so we are very involved in what are children do. We are going to all sorts of sporting events, working on scouts, and I volunteer at the school.
