Hi I'm Adrian

I'm a pilot and love the outdoors, fishing 4x4ing and drag racing......and I'm a Mormon ;)

About Me

My name is Adrian and I live down in Australia. I was originally born in the UK, but moved here when I was quite young. I used to be a fighter pilot in the Royal Australian Air Force which was a lot of fun, but these days I work as an Airline Pilot but still fly in the Air Force part time. I enjoy a heap of different hobbies from fishing, building and racing cars, cycling, cooking & gardening, playing the piano and synthesizers and making songs.

Why I am a Mormon

I've always had that feeling inside that there's more to life than just being here on planet Earth for a few fun years! This prompted me to search for the real reason to why I'm here. That journey led me to find out that I have a Heavenly Father who loves me despite all my weaknesses, it's unconditional! I know that he sent his Son, Jesus Christ, to come and bail me out and give me hope that there is a life after death and that we will all live again, forever! The most powerful way I have been able to learn this for myself, is through prayer. The best way to get to know someone is to have a conversation with them!! I get free unlimited long distance calls to God and. Just ask him ;) Why am I a Mormon? Because I believe in the Book of Mormon, which in addition to the Bible, is another testament that Jesus Christ lives. I have NO doubt, if anyone reads this book with an open heart, it will be impossible not to get closer to God. The Book of Mormon is a compilation of many smaller books that were written by ancient prophets, just like the Bible. The main person that put these books together in one volume was named Mormon, & that's who the book is named after. Mobile phones, the internet and the world's postal system never existed 2 thousand years ago. It makes complete sense to me that God would reveal his dealings with his children all over the world, directly through his prophets and they would simply write these words down. What a miracle it is for us to have these words to read today! It has changed my life in the most profound ways, but best of all, it has helped me develop a closer relationship with Jesus.....who he is and what he has done for me. The most remarkable part of this book is when Jesus visits the people in ancient America, shortly after he rose from the dead in Jerusalem. Please don't take my word for it. God has promised everyone, that after we read it, if we simply ask him in prayer if it's true, then he'll let us know through the Holy Ghost.

How I live my faith

To me, being a Christian, or someone who follows Jesus, isn't just clocking on then clocking off for a few hours on a Sunday, but it's a way of life that I try to follow 24/7. In addition to kicking the day off with a big breakfast, I like to get have a little spiritual food too, which works as a great pick-me-up!!....so I like to pick up the "prayer phone" and say thanks to God each morning for all that he has done for me and then maybe read the scriptures for a few minutes. It's amazing how different the day feels when you start off closer to God. I currently help run the youth group at our local church, which allows me to have lots of fun! The group is made up of youth from 12-18 years old. We have fun activities during the week like going to the beach, snorkelling, surfing, playing basketball, camping, hiking, bike riding and cooking in addition to having personal development type actvites where I can help the youth develop their Christlike attributes such as performing service projects for people in need. Watching them have fun is good, but watching them draw closer to God whilst having fun is priceless. On Sundays I help teach the youth Sunday School lessons. I love being able to teach people about God and how he can help them in so many ways. There are so many bad influences in the world these days and the youth are very vulnerable, so doing anything I can to help them become spiritually strong is very rewarding. During each month, I also get he opportunity to visit a few older, less mobile people in my area who aren't able to make it to church. It's great to meet these wonderful people and bring a little light into their day with a big smile and by sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ with them and offering any help where I can. I'm the local barber for one old guy!
