Hi I'm Cheryl

I was born in Mesa Arizona, I grew up in Scottsdale, I am 1 of 7 children we were all adopted. I am grateful to be a Mormon.

About Me

I am married to my best friend! We have been married for 34 years we have 4 grown children who I Iove dearly, 3 of these children are doing great, 1 not so good, my son has been struggling for 15 years. In high school he chose to hang around the wrong people and continues to this day to choose satans way, it breaks my heart, I pray for him all the time. I do not know what I would do without my testimony and knowledge of the church. I know that Heavenly Father lives that he loves each one of us, we are his children he wants each of us to return and live with him again. I also know that if I will obey Gods commandments and live up to the covenants I have made with him, we as a family will be together forever.

Why I am a Mormon

I am so grateful to be a Mormon!! I think back on my beginning and what I have learned about my biological parents, I can't thank Heavenly Father enough for the blessing of being adopted by Mormon parents. Being a Member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints means everything in the world to me. Honestly, I don't know where I would be without it, as a kid I felt misplaced and unwanted, I acted out in ways I shouldn't have because I didn't fully understand the teachings of the gospel. I have a strong testimony of the Temple and the sealing powers, I have a strong testimony of where I lived before coming to earth and where I will go after this life, I have a strong testimony of prayer, that God the Father and his Son Jesus Christ and the Holy Ghost can be our constant companions if we chose to live correct principals and invite them into our lives. I know that Heavenly Father loves us just as he loved the people who lived in Biblical times and has given the world a Prophet, President Monson, to be his mouth piece here upon the earth, we need a prophet now as much as they did then. I truly believe there is an Eternal plan and we are choosing now what the out come will be by our daily living.

How I live my faith

I learn so much by being a member of the church. For 15 years I owned my own business, I sold balloons and gift items to stores across the United States, I would make presentations and sales calls on a regular basis, I know that the confidence I had to speak to large groups came from the experiences I had in church, as a member of the church I have been given the opportunity to teach toddlers, children, teens, adults, in a variety of ways. On Sundays I was a teacher for the Youth, during the week, I organized activities for them, helping them learn basic skills, cooking, sewing, communitte service project, these projects were not only organized by me but with the help of the youth involved, teaching them responsibility and leadership. Presently I am over all the youth in our ward ages 18 months to 12 years. I Love this calling the youth are the future leaders by teaching them about Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ they will learn that they are real, that they exist, they love us and are concerned about us, I know that all of us have our agency we can accept these truths and become better people, or like my son, chose to be disobedient and live the way of the world which will get you nowhere, I know that each one of us is a daughter or son of God (Heavenly Father) he cares for us, he knows each one of us personally he is rooting for us and wants us to be kind and thoughtful to each other, I know the world is full of Wonderful people of all faiths people who are doing their best to live the commandments of God. I am Grateful to be a Mormon and to have a testimony of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints.

Can you tell me about Mormon customs: how you dress for church, what holidays you celebrate, etc.?

Cheryl
I wear a skirt and top or dress to church, and nice sandles or heels, I feel our outward appearance reflects our inward devotion. We celebrate Christmas with our focus on Christ birth, and Easter celebrating Christ Resurrection. As a family we celebrate everything! Thanksgiving, 4th of July, Valentine's Day, Birthdays, New Babies, you name it, we celebrate it!!! We Love to Party! Show more Show less
